parasitic drain right now my belt just bypasses my AC but i mean if i wasn't lazy i'd take it out
I drove my audi without power steering because the engine died. FUUUUUUUUU 5000lbs of pure aluminum shit. Drive with 1 finger all day AAAAWWWWW YEAAAA! Also Bradly why are you removing the power steering and air con? Weight reduction or tuuurrbooo/ suuupppa charger time?
Well I'm definitely not saving weight. ;) It's for.... Future plans. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
I like power steering and would never give it up and I sure as fuck wouldnt take out of my car that all ready had it. It's just pointless. There's really no good reason to take it out other than to show off I guess. The A/C is debatable since you live in Oklahoma but still if you've got it, why take it out? Just because all your other cars have zero options doesn't mean every car you get you have to downgrade them :v: I don't know, it just doesn't make sense to me
>AC wasn't fully hooked up since motor swap so it didn't work anyways >Power steering is prone to leaks and I just don't like it >Corvette brackets and stuff were mismatched because AIR pump (for smog/emissions) was removed long ago >I have plans for this Everything has pretty much been explained
Sorry for jumping away from the PS topic here, but.... I know I've suggested plastidip to you guys a handful of times but never really posted any content... I dipped my wheels this weekend and think they turned out pretty good. There's definitely imperfections up close, but from 2-3 feet away it looks damn good. The dip has been holding up well, it's rubbery and shit just bounces right off of it. I've yet to get any curb rash, but when I do I imagine it won't be too hard to touch up. Oh, and I did this without masking the tires. Any dip that ended up on the tires peels off, and any left behind after that can be buffed off with a microfiber cloth very easily. This stuff is amazing.

Fuckin potholes. But I did use plastidip on blacking out almost all my trim, which was chrome.
So I thought I would take some pictures today and make my first post here but the weather did not let me. So here is just a quick look. Took this random 4-5 days ago. Will tell more about it when I get some images. It's a BMW 520i Touring from -96.
I do that shit.
Crawling underneath with a 3/4" wrench and sticking my finger in the gear oil every time I want to go somewhere is a bit of a hassle :v:
Crawling underneath with a 3/4" wrench and sticking my finger in the gear oil every time I want to go somewhere is a bit of a hassle :v:
I'm sure you at least check for leaks :v: If there is a disptick to pull, though, anyone who doesn't regularly check it should really not be using a car. It's kind of part of owning one -- regulation and maintenance.
I'm sure you at least check for leaks :v:
I peek underneath it and see if it's dripping anything. It never is.
If there is a disptick to pull, though, anyone who doesn't regularly check it should really not be using a car. It's kind of part of owning one -- regulation and maintenance.
I check the engine oil once a month or so once an engine passes 200K or so. Below that it gets checked when it gets oil changes. If one springs a leak it gets checked as frequently as the leak determines, my dad's getting weekly checks because it pisses oil out like a busted drilling platform. Tranny and diff fluids are rather difficult to check beyond simply peeking under and looking, so for the most part if they're not dripping and everything feels and sounds fine they're left alone. Automatics get once-a-month check as well, if I have charge of one and it has a dipstick. Brake fluid and coolant levels are checked only when those systems show odd symptoms or are known to leak.

It can get gritty after a while but it should never leak or magically go away. The honda had zero leaks tranny just went and from everyone who told me. 98-02 hondas had that issue.
On the topic of that corvette, I helped my dad repaint it, replace the leaf spring, and remove the catalytic converter from it, and we are getting a new exhaust manifold, too. Oh, and the bay is so spacious compared to the cramped conditions of my mother's Dodge Minivan, and my brother's Mercury SUV. It is really brilliant to drive, and I can't wait to have the part in.

i check all fluids every fillup, most everything is in a clear tank in plain sight so I can just glance at it trans dipstick is annoying since it's right under the intercooler and above the turbo, I always end up dripping all over it so it stinks for a couple minutes [editline]29th March 2012[/editline] I took em off but I haven't found a buyer yet [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3702776/ForSale/2012-03-23_14-08-05_828.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3702776/Photo%20Dump/2012-03-16_12-31-32_888.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3702776/Photo%20Dump/2012-03-16_12-32-01_231.jpg[/img_thumb] agree for centercaps, box for keeping them off, if I keep em I might try plasti-dipping the lugs black
Unfortunately I don't have a trans dip stick, but i just changed it not too long ago, and nothing on my car leaks. So if i see any substance under my car, i know something is wrong (i haven't though).
I need to change the oil on both my trucks. [sp]THEY BOTH HAVE FRAM FILTERS ;_;[/sp]
Only the best.
I need to change the oil on both my trucks. [sp]THEY BOTH HAVE FRAM FILTERS ;_;[/sp]
At least you won't be putting FRAMs back on afterward.

Here's my car, needs a clean. Picture quality is pretty crap too :/
fuck
i gotta lower my blazer until i can get a PROPER lifting kit. The damn rednecks just cranked up the tortion bars instead of using proper lifting bars and stuff so the half-shafts are almost falling out.
Or at least plasti-dip the centercaps... My opinion.
that was the initial plan but I don't want to ruin them, sometimes it gets stuck in the cracks
I need to change the oil on both my trucks. [sp]THEY BOTH HAVE FRAM FILTERS ;_;[/sp]
Be sure to use the proper tools as suggested by a buddy of mine! [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5601782/IMG_20120221_211119.jpg[/img_thumb] It needs to stop fucking storming here and I need to find my camera so I can take a decent picture of my car again..
