Viva la Vida was a great album, I have a feeling this new one will never live up to it.
Viva la Vida was a great album, I have a feeling this new one will never live up to it.
I liked Viva La Vida more than X&Y but neither compare to the first two imo. Well, it's not so much a new career move as so much a scheme to get the pop crowd.
I cannot wait for Dream Theater's new album! The snippets I've heard are sounding fantastic. :h:
Clock Opera's debut album.

I am pumped as fuck for new material from Baroness. They haven't actually annoucned an album, but they've said they're in the studio now and they've released some cryptic sneak peeks.
Fuck... that's taking a LONG time to get released...
It was interrupted a number of times by the time machine tour.

^Beautiful album cover. Looks like a picture taken through a microscope.
Well it looks like some sort of bacteria or creature at a tip of a pen.
Well it looks like some sort of bacteria or creature at a tip of a pen.
More like a piece of dirt or dust really [editline]3rd October 2011[/editline]
Burzum - From the Depths of Darkness Out November 28th, 2011
Huh. Haven't seen anything about that, is he going for the same style as Fallen?
It's gonna mostly be re-recordings of Varg's favorite songs from the s/t and Det Som Engang Var. Someone said something about it in the Black Metal thread. But I did find a link with some info. http://www.infernalmasquerade.com/?q=other/001610-interview-varg-vikernes-burzum
We Were Promised Jetpacks - In the Pit of the Stomach was released yesterday. I'll have to go get it. Other things I can think of Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto (October 24th) Justice - Audio Video Disco (October 25th) Florence + The Machine - Ceremonials (October 31st) Snow Patrol - Fallen Empires (November 14th) And then probably some other stuff I only hear about like a day before.
This is the month for releases. Bjork, Tom Waits, Charles Manson, Peter Gabriel, Noel Gallagher, Coldplay. Should be a few I'm missing out.

Apparently Amy Winehouse has a new record releasing soon. Will grab that.
I've heard that Boston, or what's left of it, is nearly finished with another album. Of course, they operate in the musical equivalent of Valve time, so it could be years before they release. I have pretty mixed emotions about it. On the one hand, I'd really like to hear whatever Tom Scholz has come up with, and I'm interested in hearing what Brad Delp was working on before his death. On the other hand, their last album was really disappointing to me; it was still great, but it just didn't have the same magic to it as their first several albums.. At any rate, it'll be interesting to see what happens; at the very least I can see some more of their beautiful album art.

[editline]2nd November 2011[/editline] new Kate Bush album will be released soon.
new Burzum album, but it'll be a compilation. :v: http://rateyourmusic.com/release/comp/burzum/from_the_depths_of_darkness/
Leonard Cohen's new album and release date. "Old Ideas 31 January 2012"
Ashdautas/Bone Awl split. Should be out soon after 2 years waiting in limbo.
Ryan Dombal of Pitchfork Media compares his "unrepentant navel-gazing and obsession with lost love" to Marvin Gaye's 1978 album Here, My Dear, adding that Drake's "penchant for poetic oversharing" makes him "an apt avatar" for the Information Age.
This is a rare moment where I'm intrigued by what a Pitchfork reviewer has to say.
This is a rare moment where I'm intrigued by what a Pitchfork reviewer has to say.
Don't let their brutal ratings lower your view of them, I struggled past it and realised they write some pretty interesting and knowledgeable stuff.
