I made a billboard tree texture and a normal map to go with it. I actually painted the normal map by hand in Photoshop. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HEZaMxk.jpg[/t]
So one of the first things I noticed when comparing my cloud video to that badass one that nVidia shared was that mine totally lacked any kind of self-shadowing or backlighting. I'm simulating both of those with some material junk instead of actually letting the engine calculate volumetric translucent self shadowing because the latter is expensive as eff, and doing it the "fake" way gets me around 100-110fps on my rig. That does look very nice, actually. The shadowed areas of the clouds could have a more blue-ish hue however.

Usually i'm not so smug about my stuff but i'm happy with how this turned out. I did take some slight liberties to fit the topology better but i don't think anyone would really notice. There's some bad creasing i have to sort out but that's a job for later After modeling it, I really appreciate the design of the thing too. The only moving parts are the one way valves, the pistons and two steam switches which are operated by the high pressure piston. Fucking perfect design

I've been working on an Immortan Joe mask and it feels like it's coming along nicely but at this point (starting on the lower jaw) I feel a bit frozen because I'm a little wary that I may have screwed up some of the mask's proportions? Been trying to sculpt a Blue Slaad from D&D. Having major struggles with the hands which I'm dreading to properly start on, but at least I learned how to re-project detail onto new topology. [img]http://i.imgur.com/se56KEc.png[/img]

The newest SP update(2.1) supports UDIM so multiple UV tiles shouldn't be a problem anymore. Haven't tried it but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
