so someone's trying to kickstart an instagram camera http://www.adr-studio.it/site/?p=399 [t]http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/7761/screenshot2012051212555.jpg[/t] [t]http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4466/screenshot2012051212564.jpg[/t] [t]http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/5211/screenshot2012051212570.jpg[/t] [t]http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/5691/screenshot2012051212573.jpg[/t] [t]http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/939/screenshot2012051220371.jpg[/t]
Try to think to pick the Instagram App icon and try to make a real camera… This is the main idea at the base of Instagram Socialmatic Project. Since Facebook has bought Instagram for nearly a billion dollars in cash and stock, many users, bloggers, economy experts have thought Instagram could build its first real photo camera. So, that’s is! Socialmatic is the first Instagram photo camera, with a lot of amazing features: - 16 GB mass storage; - Wifi and Bluetooth; - 4:3 touchscreen; - 2 main lens, first for main capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing; - Optical zoom; - Led Flash; - Internal printer to make your Instagram photos real; - Paper cartridge with Instagram Paper Sheets; - Dedicated 4 colors ink tanks; - InstaOs 1.0, which put together Facebook and Instagram App feature; Take your shoot with Instagram Socialmatic, make your photo cool as you want and share it directly on Facebook trough the powerful InstaOs. If you want, you can print it directly on Instagram Paper Sheets, thanks to the internal printer. Every Instagram printed photo reports on front side your Instagram nickname and a QR code, to be followed by another Instagrammer, simply pointing his/her Socialmatic on your printed QR Code. This because Instagram Paper Sheets has a retro side with a glue strip, just like a post-it. You can share in the real world your photo, printing your emotions and sensations. And if you want, on the bottom of front side of your printed photo, you’ve a dedicated space to write something, just like to comment a photo on Facebook, but in the real world…Do you remember the old Polaroid photos? Instagram Socialmatic is only a concept… But, maybe, it could became real…
So, completely ignoring the fact that it's like designing an ornate hammer to pound the same old iron nails... As well-machined as they make it look with all of their product shots, I'm not quite sure they understand the size and location of any of the internals at all
Can I kickstart negative money to them
My Mom wants an easy to use camera, that's not very big. My dad will be buying it for her, so he doesn't want it to be over $300. Any suggestions? She'd mostly use it for Facebook pictures, as any pictures that she wants to look really nice she usually asks me to take. Video isn't a big deal, but if it has some capabilities that'd be nice.
Olympus epl1. They go for like $220 on amazon. Or the Olympus zx-1

Maybe he just enjoys the burning sensation of lawsuits up his anus.
Has anyone ever had any experience with the Minolta XE-7 or recommend another camera for me in the Minolta lineup that's not newer than the X-700?
i would recommend the x-700 if you are looking in their manual camera lineup (not alpha range like you said). there's no real camera they made that's better, and the x-700 is cheap enough to not even consider other options. also i think i'm going to sell my 17mm canon fd. my 24mm is wide enough, and 2 stops faster.

colored eink needs to be a thing just for animated rapidly flashing nebula leggings
Some of the Christopher Kane 'Cosmic' stuff is kinda cool and looks well made, but way too expensive and flashy for me to realistically consider.
I'm starting an A-Level course in Photography this year, and I'm looking to buy my first DSLR. I have a fairly decent digital at the moment but I have a feeling that the course will be based around using DSLRs, and it'll be a hell of a lot easier and more beneficial for me to have one. I have a budget of up to £300 but I'm looking to go as cheap as possible (I'm not made of money), I'm also okay with buying used/refurbed. Can I get some suggestions? (the "what camera is right for me" thread is locked and I didn't want to make a new thread)

It's a semi-pro and can be had with lens for about £300 You could also buy a used 1000D or Nikon D3000, but these of course are not as robust as the 30D and if you're banging it around in a school bag all day, a cheap plastic body isn't what you want. [editline]14th May 2012[/editline] If I remember correctly the Nikon equiv is the d200?
1000d is pretty fucking robust considering the amount of times mine has been dropped from chest height.

Me and my friend just joint bought a Minolta X-700 from the local goodwill for $25. It came with a a 60-30mm teli, the standard 50mm, and a little flash. It has auto aperture and shutter speed, a shutter speed indicator on the inside of the viewfinder, and a electronic beeping timer. Everything about it works, we agreed to trade it off per roll. I'm thinking about buying one of my own, its a really great camera. holy shit this camera is worth TONS of money!

But for manual focus, the x700 is feature packed for a good price. Not quite the Nikon f series or the canon t90, but better in price for lenses and body price. MD gear is going up because of mirror less though, so $25 with the 50mm is a nice deal [editline]15th May 2012[/editline] Also stalk Craigslist for cameras, you'll get better prices than eBay since people don't think film gear is worth much, and most people aren't aware of the mirrorless buzz. Shopgoodwill has good prices sometimes, but typically people donate items (to them and goodwill) because there is something wrong with them in some sort. That is typical with almost all gear I get from them (light leaks, oily aperture, broken mirrors are the most common). My best find has been a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 for $10 mint, and a near mint Minolta MD 50mm 1.4 for $12.

A shitty photo store near me has some old cameras on display (I assume not for sale) and among an olympus trip and some plastic film cameras there's a Lubitel 2 TLR I didn't know TLRs were so tiny and cute

In my opinion a ok deal, but would be better to just buy a X700 with 1 lens for around the price you got that first x700 for.
Sold my 17mm for $400 That was a nice surprise to wake up to. That means this month I got a 9xi with a 50mm, a canon FD 50mm macro with extender, and a 2x canon teleconverter, and made $25 Think I'm going to buy a 135mm f2, and fix my 24mm f2, then be set with gear for awhile
