Tells the story of a French actress that has to work as a prostitute due to financial problems. It's a film that not only challenged the standard of film making but also influenced a bunch of the great film directors that are making movies today.
Do short films count? Un Chien Andalou (1929) It has one of the most memorable moments in cinematic history, a cow's eyeball being slit by a razor. You can watch the whole thing here:
I love it.

I think I preferred Modern Times and City Lights but goddamn that one is hilarious.
I can't see this one on here if it is then link me to it but Phone Booth (2002) Brilliant film
That movie is unbelievably good. I think I preferred Modern Times and City Lights but goddamn that one is hilarious.
All of them should be in the list, imho.
I'm going through this list: Yesterday I watched American History X and thought it was just fantastic. Tonight I'm going to watch Schindler's List (Just got it), what should I expect? What are your opinions of it? Without spoilers :v:

Not alot of action, but it shows the whole concentration camp stuff very well. And the ending always makes me teary eyed.

You may like "The Pianist" more but I personally was more connected with Liam Neeson's performance.
I'm a huge fan of Liam Neeson. :keke: Why might I like "The Pianist" more?
I'm a huge fan of Liam Neeson. :keke: Why might I like "The Pianist" more?
It's slightly more charming. But then again, we're talking about the holocaust. :smith:
How about some oldies? I'm throwing in The Maltese Falcon (1941) Good detective film.
It was boring and the twists were lame, Casablanca (1942) is much more interesting if we were putting a film noir on the list.
Enemy at the gates (2001)
Enemy at the gates
Oops misread that as "Enemy of the State". but that's still awesome too.
I watched Schindler's List lastnight oh god...um... Watching Gran Torino tonight.
I watched Schindler's List lastnight oh god...um... Watching Gran Torino tonight.
Gran Torino is awesome. Also, is that 'oh god...um..." positive or negative?
i don't know honestly. it was a fantastic film, it was just...it's just eerily unnerving to think that it actually happened, what they did to the jews and what oskar schindler did i mean... [editline]15th June 2011[/editline] it shook me is what i'm saying.
Rescue Dawn (2006) What did you guys think of it? I thought it was good and didn't get enough credit.
That sounds fucking awesome

Ocean's Eleven Not overly the top good, but still worthy of being in the top 250 somewhere.

Let it sink in and watch it again when you're ready. :buddy: [editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
Rescue Dawn (2006) What did you guys think of it?
Good Morning Vietnam (1987)
Saw that the other week, was awesome.
Enemy at the gates
I thought some of the acting was horrendous in that.
Young Frankenstein (1974) Dear god how has this movie not been mentioned yet.
