If you're a fan of historical/foreign/explosions-n-shit kind of movies, then this is the movie for you. It's one of the best WW2 films I've ever watched. I might make a thread about it later on.

Then it wouldn't be what the movie is trying to be. Think.
Still not that great.
Superb music, acting, and cinematography right there. A movie everyone needs to see sometime.

Das Experiment (2001)
"The movie is based on the infamous "Stanford Prison Experiment" conducted in 1971. A makeshift prison is set up in a research lab, complete with cells, bars and surveillance cameras. For two weeks 20 male participants are hired to play prisoners and guards. The 'prisoners' are locked up and have to follow seemingly mild rules, and the 'guards' are told simply to retain order without using physical violence. Everybody is free to quit at any time, thereby forfeiting payment. In the beginning the mood between both groups is insecure and rather emphatic. But soon quarrels arise and the wardens employ ever more drastic sanctions to confirm their authority."
How isn't this up there?

Truly great movie, such an easy watch for a long movie... not one point in which this wasn't gripping my attention. Also some really worthy performances by people.
Never watched the Aviator. I guess l'll place it on my to do list.

Shaun Of The Dead
I don't think Inception and Lord of the Rings should be so high up. Never mind.
They're a bit overrated, but Inception was still a very good entertaining blockbuster flick.
And there's not a lot of really good ones anymore.

The sheer scale of the Lord Of The Rings movies makes them great, and I don't think I've had as many spine tingling moments than in those films. Also, they're the only movies I've enjoyed more than the books, credit to Tolkien, but I was just plain bored 70% of the time reading them.

It's obviously personal preference. I would have appreciated the scale if I hadn't been bored 90% of the time. I remember there being a cool firework so that was alright.
