And if you pull "it's okay to fap but not to porn", then I'm even more confused. I'm not a doctor, but I don't think your brain cares what you're aroused to as long as you're aroused. Functionally I don't see how fapping to porn is different than fapping without porn.
Maybe it's just me, but in my opinion it makes more fun to fap without porn because I'm not only restricted to the things that happen in porn. I can fantasize about whatever I want. Maybe it breaks the rules from the op but at least I don't need to watch porn anymore.
I just don't get it. And then you assume that people will call you an idiot, and for what? I just don't get it.
Well that's just your opinion. You don't have to do the things the people here say. Do what you like to do but try it without porn. Maybe once a week or once a month but not daily.
I know I shouldn't keep coming back to this thread. -Snipped text, because who cares-
Ok. But who cares. I'm doing this for fun and because this thread is like a highschool dare.

Whatever, the point is, that's not any different than watching porn. Porn and a sufficiently vivid imagination are functionally identical. What exactly have you gained? The two minutes it takes to search for whatever fetish it is you're feeling for?
Well that's just your opinion. You don't have to do the things the people here say. What is the point? Why does it matter if I do it every day, once a week, or once a month? What does it matter if I'm looking at sex while doing it or imagining sex while doing it? Where did any of these rules come from, and why, and for what purpose? Maybe I had a boring growing up, but most of my interaction with my friends didn't include dares involving our genitals. Maybe I'm the freak, but I find movies more fun.

I personally feel better after the first week without porn. I don't even want it anymore. It just bores me to watch porn.

Everyone does, it's a constant throughout all of human history. I'll tell you that Amazons weren't painted on vases out of an attempt to spread knowledge of their supposed culture. So tell me, why bother trying to stop? Why talk at all about whether you feel like watching it or not? You'll watch it at some point in the future, so what's the point? It's like bragging about how you didn't go to the grocery store. The fact is banal, there's no accomplishment in it, and eventually you'll be going to the goddamn grocery store.

I can still change my opinion. [editline]27th April 2012[/editline] And I don't want to say that all porn is bad. It's just that I don't really need it so I don't watch it.

So you're not only contradicting the entire idea behind "no porn forever", you're contradicting yourself. Twice. So yet again I must ask, what is the goddamn point? Why are you posting about not watching porn at this very moment? Who would care, and why? What do you get out of telling them if they do care? What discussions can arise from the topic other than "why is this a topic of discussion"? Why does this thread exist?

I said I'll join this whole thing because I want to live without it. If I watch porn in 3 months maybe I changed my opinion so I don't really care anymore. And like I said it doesn't give me the pleasure I want to have. Whenever I fapped to porn I had to force me to finish it. Maybe you think diffrent and that's okay. No one cares about if I watch or not. This thread is a discussion thread so we can talk about what we feel, agree or disagree with. So you don't like this idea, I do like it. That's excatly what these threads are for.
Tell me, if porn made it harder to masturbate, why did you watch it?
Because over the years I got used to it. I couldn't imagine to fap without and I never really tried.
6 days and still going strong.
Tell me, if heroin made it harder to feel good sober, why did you take it?
1. If heroin made you feel like crap while you were on it, I damn well would ask why you take it. 2. You're comparing porn to heroine. I know people who've been addicted to heroine. I don't really enjoy games anymore because they just bore me.

They don't watch it because if they don't they'll collapse like a house of cards and go stark raving mad. Physical addiction is an actual measurable problem that affects a lot of people, and if you think for one moment that pathologically watching something is it's equal, then how about you go down to the local rehab clinic and pitch your spiel and see how people who actually suffer receive it. Yet you did do it. Apparently for so long that you were unable to think of doing anything otherwise. And only now that someone has approached you with the novel idea of stopping for stopping's sake have you ceased.

You're going to have to define addiction to porn there if you want to accuse me of having it. I'm here because I'm trying to understand where you people are coming from, as apparently you have a completely alien mode of thought that I'm unable to grasp. So I'm trying to grasp it. All you asked was "Why are you guys doing this?". You got my answer and you're still here complaining about how stupid we are/I am.
Also why most porn doesn't involve extreme close ups. Go figure.
Why should they?
Then just tell me. Tell me what you want to know. All you asked was "Why are you guys doing this?". You got my answer and you're still here complaining about how stupid we are/I am.
Well, no. I pointed out an inconsistency in your logic and your story. Then another. Then another. Then another. Then I started having to explain things to you, and well, here we are with me trying to explain what sex appeal is and why people enjoy watching sex. I believe my questions at this point are something along the lines of, 1. You don't actually follow the idea of "no porn forever", nor do you seem to care about it. Yet you still post about how you haven't watched porn. Why? 2. You've stated that you masturbated to porn even though you found it harder to masturbate with than without. Why would you ever do that? And why would you only stop when the idea is suggested to you if you could already recognize that porn made masturbation harder? 3. What is the net gain from trying to quit masturbating? What benefit is derived that outweighs the effort put in? 4. What is the difference between masturbating with porn or without porn? 5. Why bother trying to quit porn or masturbation if it's inevitable you'll either fail or express your desire for one or both through some other far more disturbing and unhealthy act? I could think of more, but that's a decent list I believe.
6th day now, don't feel any different at all. Meh, gonna try to do a month without porn, then I'll watch pr0n like once a week or so. Seems like the best course of action for me. Yes/No?
