Though a loner by nature, Driver can't help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan), a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard (Oscar Isaac). After a heist intended to pay off Standard's protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals. But when he realizes that the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash in his trunk-that they're coming straight for Irene and her son-Driver is forced to shift gears and go on offense.
Trailer: Soundtrack list: A soundtrack list I found on YouTube.com 1. I was just about to post a thread on this. This movie was incredible. The soundtrack was great, made me feel like it was an 80's movie.
Was a really good movie!
This movie is very good, but it's not an action movie with tons of car chases. Anyone who goes to see it for that is going to be disappointed.
Amazing film, and I love the soundtrack. And yeah, mis-leading trailer. It's a great film but it's no mega action movie.
I haven't seen any tv spots for it or anything, but I checked IMDB 8.6, holy fuck.
I didn't have much knowledge of the movie and it turned out great. Surprisingly good. Though I think the main protagonist is a bit silent at times.
He's a predator, a shark, remember the conversation he had with the kid? So he's silent like a predator, only when he strikes does he make a commotion. It's one of the things I like about the movie. The other thing is the very spare dialogue. There is not a lot of talking in this movie, the actors act with their faces and eyes mostly. I think it's a great change of pace from the type of cliche dialogue most movies push on audiences. I like being able to imagine what I think they are thinking and feeling instead of having them spell it out all the time.
So its not a dumb action flick like the trailer makes you think? like Watchmen. I must see this movie.

Best movie of the year.
Been waiting for a thread on this. This may be my favorite movie of the year. Everything about it is artful, interesting, and well-made. Totally in love with the cinematography, almost every shot has something cool about it. The few chase scenes are shot very old-school and really make you feel like you're watching one of those timeless movie chases from the Bullitt era. I'm pretty sure they used all practical effects for the chases. The rest of the movie deals with a lot of dark, ugly stuff that fleshes out Gosling's otherwise mute character. I love how the dialogue is kept to a minimum and his actions and expressions are allowed to speak for themselves. This movie has kind of snuck by under the radar, but it is righteously kicking ass with the critics. Drive has more depth, cinematography, style, and talent on display than any of the year's flashy CGI-fests. Michael Bay will never be able to touch this.
I loved this movie Definitely going to see it again before it leaves cinemas
Best movie of the year.
so far, yes.
Best movie of the year.
Holy shit, is it really that good? I might have to see this one.
You have no idea how many time I listen to this song.
the more i listen to this song, the more i love it.
This movie was great, loved the soundtrack, the action was well paced and the amount of stuff conveyed with little speech was great. One thing bugged me though, the car sounds. They were one sound on loop, he could be slowing down and it'd still be an engine accelerating, hell he hit third gear in reverse at one point.
It's like a ridiculously brutal 70s vigilante movie.
Great movie but holy fuck was that[sp]elevator headstomping scene [/sp]brutal.

I hope it's not a spoiler but I realized at the end [sp]we've never learned the Driver's name[/sp]. Kind of cool.

Looks good. Definitely give this a look
You have no idea how many time I listen to this song.
Love Kavinsky. Deal sealer
The real question is [sp]How is he still alive after getting stab in a stomach?[/sp]
That was my favorite part about the movie. You see him wake up and drive off not knowing if he will die later on or keep living.
The real question is [sp]How is he still alive after getting stab in a stomach?[/sp]
I think it's open. [sp]I want to believe he managed to get help. Or he just wants to take one last ride before he dies.[/sp]
[sp]I think the driver just kept driving until he bled to death.[/sp]
Seen posters for this but other than that no advertising, still i have to admit it looks pretty interesting.
