• Logo and Business Card Design [Paying Gig]

I need a professional logo created for my production team. I'm in need of a logo that will be legible and recognizable small (say on the back of a CD case), but look good at a large scale (posters, etc.). I will also need 2 sets of business cards designed. I'll pay $100 for anyone willing to undertake this project. If you feel your talent is worth more money, no problem, just let me know. Our group name is "The Blacksmiths", and we want a logo that can represent the name well. Any takers?
We can't work without ideas, color scheme, shape, any text? [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] make a mockup in paint or something
Will do. Give me a minute here, and I'll add some ideas. [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] This is similar to the design I want. The rappers name is "Patience", and when you know what the logo is associated with, it makes sense. I'm not looking for something that just says "THE BLACKSMITHS", I want creative and smooth subtlety. We had a friend mock up a design involving our name molded into an anvil surrounded by a cogwheel. He had the basics that we wanted, but from a professional standpoint, I felt it was lacking. [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] Black and white is all I need.
This is of course a very quick mock up, but did your friend want something like this? After this, I just listened to the style of music, I don't know how well that logo would fit in your eyes. Your music is nice by the way. Oh, without color [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline]
More like an anvil superimposed over a larger cogwheel. Also, the "TBS" is a no go for future mock ups, rather not get sued if somehow tbs gives a fuck about us, lol. [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] Thanks for the compliment btw! Just now saw it. [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] I like the anvil going through the cogwheel, btw.
Ah, I had to google TBS, I had no idea who they were :v: also ?
It's not bad, just a bit bland. Maybe less anvil-y and try out something with a blacksmiths hammer.
[t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/theblacksmithsv11.png[/t] How do you like this?
Try making the wheel 50% bigger, and put it behind or thru the anvil?
Try making the wheel 50% bigger, and put it behind or thru the anvil?
[t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/theblacksmithsv21.png[/t] or [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/theblacksmithsv31.png[/t] ? [editline]Oh[/editline] If you like both, I'm thinking one could be used on posters and CD cases, and the other could go on business cards.
Here's an icon mockup I thought of reading through the thread and other designs.
I like where you're going, Meller. I think a more stylized approach, and a few changes would do it.
[t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/blacksmithsv4.png[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/blacksmithsv4_transp.png[/t] More like this? [editline]4th May 2012[/editline] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/blacksmithsv5.png[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/blacksmithsv5_notransp.png[/t]
Those look like the kind of symbol you would associate with actual blacksmiths.
Tried to make my previous thought more dynamic and removed the hammers as they seemed unnecessary.

That one is pretty good, I feel like you could somehow incorporate the music aspect of the company somehow too. However, the guy seems to want subtlety / cleverness, and this one is fairly straight forward.
Nassimo, I do like the two you posted. While it's a tad straightforward, it looks just subtle enough. Also, It looks like those would translate to smaller icons pretty well. So far I like where you're heading. I'll be at my studio later today, we'll look over these and give a bit more detailed insight on what we like.
Sorry for bumping but,any news okeefe415 ?
