Dammit, everyone is misunderstanding the OP. OP is pondering what a force the 3rd Reich could be if he became leader and STOPPED all the genocide and stupid Hitler shit from ever occurring, however, I think that if the Nazi's hadn't gone to war with half the fucking countries on earth then they would have become too powerful, developing the atomic weapon first while the US sat with it's horrible pre-war military, and i don't know what become of the USSR, maybe them and the US would actually be friends?

See Red Scares of the 1920s.
I don't speak German so I can't compare his speeches to anyone else's adequately, but your "other than that" certainly doesn't apply to his figure. He doesn't have the form of a leader.
He could get thousands of people to be quiet in under a minute. He inspired a whole nation. Yeah. He was a pretty good speaker.
Are you Indian by any chance?
The Soviets would have steamrolled Germany either way.
Hitler actually realized this. He originally wanted to conquer Europe and then invade Russia. But things didn't turn out as planned. [editline]04:29AM[/editline]
Are you Indian by any chance?
If you're talking to me, no.
i don't admire fascism but okay
The USSR and US wouldn't of been friends. See Red Scares of the 1920s.
Fucking McCarthy all his fault.
:geno:
Not all Nazis were evil. The majority were, but some realized the fatal attraction of Hitler.
the op is fucking retarded holy shit
[img_thumb]http://www.snyderstreasures.net/images/artworks/AHGermaniaOALarge.jpg[/img_thumb] Hitler's sketch. Fairly average, not horrible. It lacks refinement and originality. VS. Otto Dix (Same time period as Hitler) [img_thumb]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0NB3zPRcD7E/SwMBKSiPESI/AAAAAAAABIM/3zUCu7KUdpQ/s1600/1913_self+portrait.jpg[/img_thumb] In short, Hitler was an alright artist, however compared to many of his competitors for entrance in Vienna he fell noticeably short.
He was good at drawing landscapes though. The response of the audience does not impress me when I know it to be oppressed and brainwashed.
Not all Nazis were evil. The majority were, but some realized the fatal attraction of Hitler.
Yeah. Most Nazis were just Germans who wanted their country to regain it's pride and former glory. Hitle promised them that in turn for their service. But Hitler failed to keep that promise because of the military mistakes he made. Hitler shouldn't have taken majority of military command.

[editline]04:39AM[/editline]
Yeah. Most Nazis were just Germans who wanted their country to regain it's pride and former glory.
One guy brainwashed millions. Millions. If that doesn't impress you. Wow.
I believe he gained momentum without much merit of his own. Idolizing his speaking abilities without knowing anything about speeches, the use of language or the language in question, is stupid.
hitler is like george lucas, he's given too much credit for the work of the people around him
I disagree with the OP's opinions. Therefore, he is wrong. :hurr:
I believe he gained momentum without much merit of his own.
You do know about the Treaty of Versailles and the aftermath of Germany in WW1 right.
Yes. How is this relevant?
Then you will know how Hitler captivated millions and I won't need to explain why his speeches were successful besides his public speaking abilities.
Then you will know how Hitler captivated millions and I won't need to explain why his speeches were successful besides his public speaking abilities.
how many of them do you think were cheering because they were afraid they were going to die if they didn't?
Yes. How is this relevant?
I'm pretty sure he's referring to the fact that the Germans were willing to listen to anyone who was promising glory and unification. Hitler was charismatic, intelligent and offering people something they wanted.
I disagree with the OP's opinions. Therefore, he is wrong. :hurr:
Opinions can't be right or wrong, dumb ass. They're subjective.
how many of them do you think were cheering because they were afraid they were going to die if they didn't?
My God, are you retarded?
My God, are you retarded?
no, just throwing in an argument that's about as retarded as most of the arguments here
how many of them do you think were cheering because they were afraid they were going to die if they didn't?
Hitler came into power because he was viewed as a savior. Germany was in the gutter after WW1 because of the Treaty of Versailles. They needed to recover from a war, and they had to pay the Allies for war damages and Germany's economy was basically fucked over with Hyper Inflation. It went on for awhile then suddenly this guy promised to restore Germany to it's former glory. Think about it. You're a civilian, starving and your country is in ruins. Then suddenly someone promises to bring your country back in it's feet.
Then you will know how Hitler captivated millions and I won't need to explain why his speeches were successful besides his public speaking abilities.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the fact that the Germans were willing to listen to anyone who was promising glory and unification. Hitler was charismatic, intelligent and offering people something they wanted.
You're oddly both confirming and disagreeing with my point. Desperate people will follow anyone. There were reasons other than his skills as a speaker that gained him the population's support. He succeeded in utilizing Germany's situation, which does not make him a good speaker. It takes little to inspire one actively seeking for the slightest bit of hope.
Hitler was an opportunist with investors. He was never going to win the war, statistically and strategically. Shall we go on and talk about how great the USSR was now :v
itt people don't understand history or are ignorant of certain parts of history and try to shove their limited knowledge of history through a certain idea structure that can't work and just make themselves look like fools
itt people don't understand history or are ignorant of certain parts of history and try to shove their limited knowledge of history through a certain idea structure that can't work and just make themselves look like fools
I'm too lazy to write a giant post about Hitler :colbert:
