canada really is a beautiful place more of you should come visit
Really jealous of that nature. I live in a provincial town in Zealand, we have fucking nothing. The only real nature here is a forest that is 2km^2 big, everything else for a good share of km in any directions is just fields, roads and farms. not that I don't appreciate my forest!
Ditto. I live in rural eastern Norway, which is much less interesting then beautiful Western Norway, or Canada. But I save up and buy vacations like this one, which I'm on now.
Also, how do you get so close to the animals?
Keep a constant speed. Don't stop and start walking. Or do it gradually, no sudden movements. Just walk slowly and carefully. Be aware of how you're stepping and what you're stepping on -- make no loud noises even when they're aware of you, don't make any sudden moves and mirror the animals way of movement. Don't bend down or anything, or it looks like you might pounce. If you want to get real close, you might want to roll on some dry dirt, or smear over any part that smells of deodorant. Foreign smells scare them away. But that's if you get within 20 meters of them of course. Clothing may be helpful too, but I just wear a beige photography west and jeans that can take a beating when I'm out in the wild which seems to work fine. Some bait may be helpful too.
mac is best photographer 10/10 would look at again
Oh boy I can't wait for the next one :)
I only looked at the pictures so I assumed they were taken in Norway :v: a little less jealous now
They're not. Todays, 7/31 Was at a BBQ all day with friendly people I met earlier, so I had no photo opportunities today, so I just took this when I came home. Apologies for eh-ness and meh-ness.

Thank you :)
8/31 [editline]1st July 2012[/editline] Colors got a bit fucked when I uploaded -- it lost a lot of vibrancy and yellow + green, I wonder why. My color profile is right and all. [editline]1st July 2012[/editline] I can't figure it out, this one too lost a lot of yellow. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/75010084/OCanada/7_1.jpg And the wolf eyes too. Whyyy
9/31 - bald eagle baby Less cropped because some people liked that better too: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/75010084/OCanada/9_2.jpg

Todays picture isn't artistic, I just chose it because it's hilarious. 11/31 - Fuck Earth I'm outta here Hooverdeer. [editline]3rd July 2012[/editline] See what I did with the words there? With the hooves and the hover and the thing
Where's today's picture?
Last one I posted early in the morning yesterday, now it's early in the morning today. 8:53 AM. It'll be on within 11:59 PM today. I've just got a lot to do.
Oh, I see. Different timezones can be confusing :v: Good luck!
13/31 Sorry, I can't produce pictures of quality like the rainbow picture every day, sometimes its hard to find a motive and it just ends up being like todays.
Is that a marmot?
Probably.
It's a lemming, waiting for the train.
