Heya, Well first i'm going to tell you guys we play Melodic Heavy Metal or whatever you want to call it, genre is rather hard to tell now-a-days.... But anyway! Yeah, we recorded some better than previous demo's and i'd to share it with you guys, I'm the singer by the way. ._. Also i'm announcing a tour trough Scandinavia this summer so hopefully if you like our music you can join us at one gig there! These are our own songs, and i'll just paste the lyrics underneath them. Unreachable As our eyes met I knew they had before The feeling of regret Rose up from inner core A yearning not expressed Combined with bitter truth It made me see That we could never be I’ll seek you I’ll find you I’ll follow Behind you I’ll try to Forgive you The way you Put a spell on me Maybe if we had not been apart so long I could withstand this deafening daemon song I fear that it will not ever let me go Your(I sing my for some reason) face forever etched on the way that goes on… Under the moon, I wander restless Craving for you Drugging my senses I’ll seek you I’ll find you I’ll follow Behind you I’ll try to Forgive you The way you Put a spell on me Unreachable, the way it is Never want to lose this bliss As you turn away My heart is pounding still You’re leading me astray And gnawing at my will You’re like a siren’s song Compelling to the soul Correct me if I’m wrong I can’t be whole again(This line was removed by the guy who put the demo together for some reason :P) My eyes are closed Yet I can still see All I wished for All that we could be Where you go, I go too Unreachable, so f*cking true! Mark my words These lyrics aren't so good in my opinion, but ah well, it'd be stupid if I only put one up... Thought all was o.k. No more sadness for me. No more lies from me. Thought it would fade away. Never anything faded. Never something was wrong. But after all the waiting. All of it was gone. Mark my words. The playground is empty. Abandoned by all. After the big fall. Enough, we knew it all. Never anything faded. Never something was wrong. But after all the waiting. All of it was gone. Mark my words. Came down from the sky. We haven’t even tried. No-one knew why. Enough would’ve died. Never anything faded. Never something was wrong. But after all the waiting. All of it was gone. Mark my words. Old demo (cover) Only For The Weak And finally, the tour! "Infelix - Scandinavia Unleashed" A few months ago we were drinking some beer after playing with the band and one of us was like, Guys, we should totally do a random tour this summer trough Scandinavia, and we said yes, and we started collecting money and calling cafés etc. And we're still busy doing all of it, maybe people from facepunch want to visit one of the gigs on our list, the list below is not 100% sure yet since we didn't yet plan fully plan it. And since we're bringing t-shirts and our album with us on tour you can comment on them too. :P And second shirt design that was too expensive for us to buy at the moment because of colours, haha. Sexy singing there Mosquito boy. I'll meet you in Sweden! \oo/
Sounds like a generic *core band, no offense, but you haven't got anything original in your package.
Well, we're pretty melodic, heavy and we have clean vocals, so pretty old music with a new jacket, thought that was rather original.
That's cool man, fuck that guy You're making it, thumbs up
the melody it'self is good, but you have to sing louder and more clearly!
Ehm.. the vocals. :xd: Nevertheless, good luck on your tour! [editline]01:10PM[/editline]
the melody it'self is good, but you have to sing louder and more clearly!
And use a pop filter preferably.
pop filter, you make me laugh >:C haha, nah i got singing lessons too so i'm improving if that's the problem, I think, the problem is that it just isn't engineered right so it looks a bit off onto then instruments... (It was engineered by ourselves in our little Infelix studio :p) Or maybe you just don't like it. xD
Engineered? What are you taling about? :3:
Put together? x)
he means produced.
I think I do. :P
Oh dear god the tone! Wheres the bass? Where's the punch from the drums, where the energy?
Work on your syncopes dude, you always miss the timing with them. Besides that your voice sounds like you are trying to sing deepr than what you really are capable of.
Well as i said, it was engineered in a damn cellar at home. So don't expect any good quality stuff, for some reason recording the bass didn't work out well, but it's there... If the quality is horrible don't expect energy. :p And for Killuah, I have no idea what syncopes are, heh maybe i do know the dutch word. About the deepness, well that is just my voice, i don't try. I think what really the problem is, is that i don't use enough power when recording.
pop filter, you make me laugh >:C haha, nah i got singing lessons too so i'm improving if that's the problem, I think, the problem is that it just isn't engineered right so it looks a bit off onto then instruments... IF YOU WANT TO MAKE EXCUSES ABOUT YOUR WORK, DON'T RELEASE IT. PERIOD. Also, in response to "If the quality is horrible don't expect energy": Truly great musicians can fit incredible energy into a very small bandwidth. Early pop in the 1950s and 60s was produced for AM. Try listening to anything on AM, and think about how little bandwidth and sound QA there is. On the topic of your actual music: Not really my style of music to begin with, but I feel the need to parrot the opinion of others in this thread. I feels like you're whipsering into the mic; you're singing for one of the classic Screamy genres, so fucking LET RIP. Learn to sing from the lungs, and really give it your all. If you don't feel like falling over after singing, you didn't sing hard enough. Another thing, and this is related more to your composition than your performance: You're singing in a range of less than one full scale. I don't know if this is more a function of your genre than your composition (i don't know enough about metal), but it makes the vocals much less interesting if there's little range to them. On the topic of composition: composition is really very tough; there's not much I can say except practice a hell of a lot, preferably in an efficient composition suite with live previews. You don't want to have to call up the band every time you make a revision to your song.
I don't think he's making excuses man, looks to me like he's just trying to identify the problem more thoroughly by thinking about WHY it is wrong.
That was what i was trying, but if you got me wrong it's ok. :P First off, i'm pretty sure the "if you don't feel like falling over after singing you didn't sing hard enough." isn't really the way it's supposed to go :p I got singing lessons and i learned how to sing right, but i'm not used to singing in a basement with silence around me except for the instruments coming from the headphone, so i didn't really feel the power to sing loud, everybody was listening too... More, this isn't a release, it's a demo to get an idea of the music... And well i think energy is put in by hearing awesome sound which doesn't get pitched of or whatever you call it and is bad quality. Thanks very much anyways. :)
Dude, get someone to take a photo of you playing I'd like to see it
I will! :D
Well, it would still sound acceptable if it was decently mixed. The bass is so weak, I can barely hear and definitely not feel it. The vocals are too loud.
I disagree, for a demo this is good enough quality.
But it sounds like the bass has been mixed right out. Didn't the amp have a line out?
I'm not really sure how they recorded the instruments... But yeah, i noticed there's pretty much no bass. Just get to a live concert and you'll hopefully hear bass haha. Or don't come since you live in the usa or so haha.
congradulations
The singing sounds like it was recorded on with a computer mic in Audacity. But hey, I'll go see you guys in Gothenburg! [editline]11:12PM[/editline] Yo these lyrics sound like something my friend would write and then me going "no".
That's not good. xD Both of them?
You need to sing stronger brother!
woah pretty hefty tour you got on your hands there
Original name was "Because we can". And that's the reason we're going! haha
