How does an engine crack a sleeve?
It gets too cold, and tries to pull it down super fast causing a tear in the fabric.
How does an engine crack a sleeve?
Typically cracked sleeves are caused by stress in the engine's cylinders or detonation, generally these are only evident with VERY high compression engines (We're talking 14:1 and up) or forced induction. The other way is to not run antifreeze in an engine and allow it to freeze -- This can cause many things, like cracking the block, sleeves, head, lifting the head/stretching the head bolts, and pushing out freeze plugs. I hadn't drove my Civic in a while and when I started driving it again I didn't winterize it. When it froze it both lifted the head and stretched the two center head bolts and broke the edge of my 1st and 4th cylinders (pitting along the edges, which was actually small chunks of cylinder sleeve that had been broken off) That pretty much sums it up. [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] Oh cool hey there CEL #3. I'm sure my MAP is fine though, thank you. Either that or the stock MAP can't handle the 8PSI it was rumored to be able to handle (people have taken these to 16PSI and beyond apparently).

Layed under my truck and pretended to know what I was doing, Got covered in oil, then nearly rolled my buddy's suv about an hour ago in the woods.
You and that CRV [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] Was it that CRV?
Twas a cute green honda yes We attempted to go over a dirt hill We slide sideways some We could not back up We then kinda drifted across a hill around this big ass puddle fuck yeah.
It appears Justin isn't too fond of Conk. :/ Anyways, today I finally stopped puking my guts out so I'm going to take a shower and then go see what's happening at my shop.
It appears Justin isn't too fond of Conk. :/
I didn't feel like making that into a paragraph since i was tired so whatevs. and everyone knows, bullet points= 4chan.
I just don't like the way he seems to be treating various vehicles. Always talking about taking these cars offroad that shouldn't be offroad, talking about mudding with them, almost rolling them, treating them like shit in general. They aren't my cars so what the hell ever it just doesn't sit right with me i guess.
My friend's CRV shocks went just from carrying a drum kit to gigs multiple times a week on normal roads. I can't imagine taking one off-roading without some after-market suspension upgrades D:

He learned his lesson when he nearly ruined the engine in his Grand Am. That's why he bought the Ford, for an actual 4WD.
and speaking of said ford jesus fuck these bolts do not want to come out since they are rusted to the nuts and or cannot pass through the nuts due to rust build up. so we gonna sawzaw some shit, attempting to get the fenders and the grille off today
Dat penetrating oil [editline]17th December 2011[/editline] A guy at work is gonna give me a starter off a block he's got, hopefully he'll have it on monday. Cleaned and put anti fog on my windows today, and that's about it. Had to get all the glue from the tint on my windows off after I peeled it off.

I need to just get a bigger FMIC, redo all my piping and get an '88-89 front bumper that doesn't have those psuedo-vents in the sides. Might be trading my gold 521's for some matte black Konigs.
Realized I broke the plastic nipple off my BVSV valve I almost have the whole engine hooked up again too

would anyone be interested in a set of 1969 rally wheels from my camaro?
would anyone be interested in a set of 1969 rally wheels from my camaro?
I'll give you tree fiddy.
would anyone be interested in a set of 1969 rally wheels from my camaro?
Are they the 14s or 15s? I have like 3 sets of the 15s. lol.
would anyone be interested in a set of 1969 rally wheels from my camaro?
I don't think they'd fit on my camry [editline]18th December 2011[/editline] that awkward moment when you realize that your car is metric and you forgot to buy metric bolts and now have an assload of useless bolts
Are they the 14s or 15s? I have like 3 sets of the 15s. lol.
14s [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5698103/Camaro/P1300897.JPG[/img_thumb] one is missing the trim ring but they're in good shape tires are beat though but at least they hold air
Oh, sweet. Same set I'm running on my '64 El Camino.
Did a little Red Neck Autobody. Gonna throw a little touch up paint over it all, and it'll look good enough for now. Don't wanna get a new bumper till spring. [thumb]http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee46/MaImpala/5d4ccdb2.jpg[/thumb]
So, it turns out that moisture getting in through the third brake light is a common problem on ford rangers. I put some silicon adhesive around where the gasket started to fail. hopefully that will hold until spring.
Went to back up at the store about 15 minutes ago CLUNK CLU-CLUNK WHUT! Almost lost my trailing arm out from the right rear. Shit. So I limped it to my shop a block down the road and then fixed it.
Finished up my all-too-long lasting first DIY head gasket job. Car's running like a boss now.

Car's working and stopped loosing fluids, so I think the air's finally been worked out of all the lines.
Started building a snow plow for my little atv, will deliver pics when it's done-
