They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
THE FIRST STILL, showing the five main characters: [t]http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/5118/hrtheworldsend2jpglarge.jpg[/t] production started September 2012 for a August 23rd, 2013 release! "It's more mature, we've grown up since we wrote Shaun of the Dead," he said. "This tackles things that are going on with us now - it is a little blacker even than Shaun, I think." Edgar Wright “We’ve said in our most lofty moments that 'Shaun Of The Dead' was about evolution – it was about Shaun becoming something more than he was. 'Hot Fuzz' was about devolution – it was about [super-cop] Nick Angel dumbing himself down to become something else. And 'World’s End' is about revolution, which will be apparent when you see it.” “I would say it's darker, more personal and more silly." http://www.longislandpress.com/2011/03/19/paul-simon-pegg-interview/ From an interview with Simon Pegg
"What about At World’s End, when is that coming? SP: As soon as we can, basically. And whether or not it’s called that, I don’t know. Hopefully after Mission Impossible I’ll have some time, so that we can sit down and get the ball rolling. And maybe turn it over slightly quicker than normal. This should hopefully not take as long as ‘Shaun‘ and ‘Hot Fuzz’ did. And of course Nick will be involved from the beginning. So it’s just a question of logistics and practicality, and timing. But we’re so ready to do it."
AND http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2011/03/10/blood-and-ice-cream-trilogy-simon-pegg/
according to Pegg, who told MTV News that we could see the elusive "Blood and Ice Cream" conclusion as soon as 2012.
Edgar has coughed up that ['Scott Pilgrim'] furball and we're now in the process of regurgitating ['Paul'], so Edgar and I are planning to get together in the next few months to start working on the next in the 'Blood and Ice Cream' series," Pegg told us, adding that he hopes his good pal Frost will be "more involved in the creation of that.
"We're hoping — hoping, fingers crossed — maybe next year would be a good time to make it, even release it," he said. But don't hold him to that time table. Pegg was quick to issue a warning: "We would like that in an ideal world, but it's not a fact, nor should it be disseminated as such." As he wisely points out, "On the Internet, you have a lot to answer for!" Well, fact or not, you nonetheless put an irresistible but small amount of "Blood and Ice Cream" in our mouths, Mr. Pegg — and we're expecting at least eight additional scoops come 2012.
video of that quote at the MTV link^
CASTING NEWS
Aside from the obvious Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, we'll also be seeing: ROSAMUND PIKE http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2186319/Cornetto-caper-funny-girl-Rosamund-Pike.html She was the evil chick in Die Another Day PADDY CONSIDINE http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118058729 He was Detective Andy Wainright in Hot Fuzz ------------------------------------------ORIGINAL THREAD BELOW------------------------------------------ The final film in the 'Blood and Ice Cream trilogy' / 'Three flavours Cornetto' trilogy has been announced. So far it looks to be a sci-fi doomsday film. And yes, as with the other two, the film will be directed by Edgar Wright, and staring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. So what's all this about Cornetto? Well it's basically a tribute to a director named Krzysztof Kieslowski and his Three Colors series, which went blue, white, red, the colors of the french flag from left to right. Shaun of the Dead had a strawberry Cornetto, red relating to all the blood, Hot Fuzz had an original one that comes in a blue wrapper, blue relating to da fuzz, and now world's end is rumored to have a mint chocolate chip cornetto, green obviously relating to aliens and such. some sources http://www.cinematical.com/2008/04/03/edgar-wright-and-simon-pegg-going-to-the-worlds-end http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Pegg#Career fairly old news but whatever, no-one has posted about it yet as far as I can tell Since there's jack-shit about this movie right now, I'm putting this in the news section. As soon as more details are revealed I'll move this to general discussion. But that probably won't be for a good while since this movie is probably not gonna be out for like 2 years.
-snip- can't read. I wonder why they chose these three movies to do it in and not Run Fatboy run or How to lose friends and alienate people
-snip- can't read. I wonder why they chose these three movies to do it in and not Run Fatboy run or How to lose friends and alienate people
probably something to do with neither of those being directed by Edgar Wright.
probably something to do with neither of those being directed by Edgar Wright.
ahh I just see the same group of guys in a movie and I automatically assume that it's the same group (producer + writer + actors + director), sort of like a modern day rat pack
Shaun of the Dead was awesome. Hot Fuzz was alright, could have been better, was not that funny.
I thought hot fuzz was fucking awesome.
to be honest the gore in hot fuzz kind of put me off, and the humor was a bit lacking the movie was great, but it wasn't anywhere as good (or funny) as shaun of the dead
Who knew ice cream could be so awesome :v:
I LOVE Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I use to turn Shaun of the Dead on tv and just let it play over and over and i would watch it and be on the computer. I can't wait until this movie is done. It saddens me this is the last. Edit: I have to add, i favor Shaun of the Dead.
Hott Fuzz, in my opinion, was better than Shaun of the Dead. By the power of Greyskull!
I think this was announced a while ago, wasn't it? I've been waiting for some time.
I think this was announced a while ago, wasn't it? I've been waiting for some time.
like I said slightly old news but hasn't been posted yet
I can't wait for this movie.
Hott Fuzz, in my opinion, was better than Shaun of the Dead. By the power of Greyskull!
No way.
these guys make brilliant movies can't wait
That was a trilogy?
I can't fucking wait. Shaun of the dead was AWESOME Hot Fuzz was AWESOME And if we follow the pattern, this movie is gonna be AWESOME
I really can't wait to see this, I thought that Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had ridiculously awesome action and comedy scenes, and the guys who put this together are geniuses.
Awesome! :D I'd say Hot Fuzz was one of my favorite movies of all time. I thought it was hilarious.
Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead are my 2 favorite movies!
I love these guys, they make the sort of films I make.
I love these guys, they make the sort of films I make.
The flavour this time around is mint. Okay, seriously, FP needs a Cinema forum. :(
I thought hot fuzz was fucking awesome.
Me too. I actually thought it was better than Shaun of the Dead in some places. I can't wait for this. :excited:
I've been rallying for one for ages :(
Shaun of the Dead just beats Hot Fuzz I reckon. Shaun of the dead's storyline was great all the way through, but in Hot Fuzz it all kinda happened at the end. Never the less, they were both brilliant.
Wooo, I fucking loved SOTD and HF. :4chan:
what the hell is a cornetto? Sounds like a musical instrument.
Likely aliens, because of mint cornettos. Man, I wish those two had a longer contract. Quick, petition for more flavors of cornettos!
I can't wait to see this. :excited:
More Pegg film. :D
