[editline]8th May 2012[/editline]
Honestly, it all comes down to what part of the military and the Nazi party they were. If they were just part of the Luftwaffe, the kriegsmarine or the Wehrmacht, you were probably just an average soldier. However, if you were part of the SS-Totenkopfverbände, the SS-Sicherheitspolizei, the SS-Einsatzgruppen, or the SS Medical Corps (they gassed people, false title), you were probably absolute scum. The oldest members of the party, whom had joined it before 1930, were called the "Alter Kämpfer", or "older fighter", tended to be the worst Anti-Semitics. They also tended to be the Amtsleiter, or those who personally answered to Adolf Hitler, and served as both his advisor as well as his body guards. I could go on, but not every German was "innocent". After WWII, the American and Soviet governments ran a propaganda campaign called "Denazification", in which the guilt of the Holocaust was spread equally to the whole of the German people. German civilians and war veterans were often forced to view the work of their "Fuhrer" by touring concentration camps and working to bury the victims, and even in some cases to exhume mass graves.
I think we can agree that the German people as a whole, were mostly not guilty. But there was definitely a strong minority of that country that was. Though I doubt Hitler would have been put in office if he had run on the campaign of "kill the Jews, invade the USSR", which he really wanted. But he was put there because he promised economic prosperity and bringing back "national honor".
Soviet trench coats are better.
Better in looking ugly yes.
Are these pictures of one of the Boer Wars? Or is it a different war?
They are from the Boer Wars.
I'm not sure what it is, but I really wouldn't want to fuck with those guys.
Boer commando. Ass rape Inc. pretty much. Most of them could head shot the British on a large distance which had little training and still used old tactics. Wide use of guerilla tactics (used to travel and survive).
Liveleak imbedding doesn't work, but this is another perspective on the war in Afghanistan. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f9f_1336248636
The man lying down stroking his horse is apparently a Cossack in the service of the Third Reich, which is about as strange as Islamic Nazi's.
That's actually not as strange as it looks. Ukrainians, and Cossacks also, had been fighting for their independence from Russia for the better part of 100 years by 1941. Yeah the Nazis weren't fond of them, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend... I guess. What i really like about this picture is how happy the horse looks. It probably didn't live either :(
I really like those pictures where they have soldiers that would normally be fighting each other, helping each other instead. Like the one where the wounded Soviet conscript had a flask of water handed to him by a standard Nazi foot soldier.
Most of them could head shot the British on a large distance which had little training and still used old tactics.
To add to this, the British recruits at the time also had poor health due to the poverty that was rife in Britain at the time.

edit: Maybe not so related to the thread actually since it is a painting and stuff, but I was really impressed after hearing that Hitler was an artist. I have no proof for this since I almost slept through all my history lessons, but if Hitler would have been accepted to art school he maybe wouldn't have done all what he did.

Well now I can see why he was considered a failure as an artist. His sense of perspective was all over the place.
Maybe, but he clearly had talent, perspective can be learned. More if people are interested: http://www.snyderstreasures.com/pages/hartworks.htm

Gotta agree, he had talent. Sure, it's bland and all, but hey, not anyone can do that. With more practice, comes more talent.
Gotta agree, he had talent. Sure, it's bland and all, but hey, not anyone can do that. With more practice, comes more talent.
Talent is more natural ability. Practice feeds into skill.
Anyway, to break the WW2 Nazi combo, here's a gruesome photo of the Kennedy Assassination (Warning: graphic) http://mikophoto.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/The-John-F.-Kennedy-Assassination-and-Autopsy.jpg
Well now I can see why he was considered a failure as an artist. His sense of perspective was all over the place.
Actually, he was rejected from art school because he was unable to draw human figures.

I really like the whole JFK thing.
