Hello comrades, welcome to glorious Russian gear thread! Here I will post different kit lists that I find, feel free to post any relevant information and I will add it to this post. There's a few different kit lists you can follow, I'll list a few of the basics. Sites to purchase Russian camouflage and gear from: http://www.redsoldier.com - US http://www.soviet-propaganda.com - RUS http://www.sovietarmystuff.com - UKR http://www.rusmilitary.com - UK http://www.ebay.com - MULTI http://www.skippersmilitarysupply.com - US http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/ - MULTI Informative sites for Russian gear: http://www.soviet-propaganda.com http://ra.spetsnaz.su MVD Spetsnaz: MVD Spetsnaz are somewhat the rangers of the Russian military. Mixing camouflage patterns (pants and top) is quite common. These are the guys that are often confused with infantry and that's how some people get the impression that russian soldiers are poorly funded and quite ragtag. Weapons: AKM, AKMS, AK74MN, AK74, AKS74, RPK74, SVD Dragunov. VDV often get the latest equipment (kevlar helmets, bullet proof vests) and are the best trained (aside from Spetsnaz). Essentially, the appearance of modern VDV is the general appearance of a modern Russian soldier, though standard infantry units may still be using the old Ssh68 steel helmet it is going to be phased out. The VDV, equipment wise, usually are equipped with the 6b7 kevlar helmet (which by most Russian airsofters is substituded with an OD PASGT with or without a Flora helmet cover), the loadbearing gear is the 6sh92 or 6sh92-5, and the kevlar vest underneath the 6sh92 is typically the 6b13 (or more commonly, the 6b23). Flora is the standard issue camouflage uniform to the VDV. Weapons: AK74M, RPK74, SVD/SVDS, PKM. I love Russian Camo. I just wish there were more airsoft guns in the Russian flavor. More of their SMG style guns would be cool. A Gas Bizon would make me wet myself.

I'm going to make a Russian loadout but I'm not quite sure what I want to do. I've narrowed it down to MVD Spetsnaz, 1st Chechen War and modern VDV.
