Why don't you take a seat right there? [release]So, I guess I should do the review of my G&G Combat Machine M4A1 blowback version. I got it for a present, and and I figured that everybody would benefit fro ma review of this AEG. A thing to know is that some pictures were taken at different times, and purchased at Airsoft megastore. I know some people have some things against them, but I have ordered from them multiple times, and I haven't had any problems with them. I think that everybody should consider this review a Work-in-Progress. This is because I do not own a chronograph, but I will do a shooting test video sometime in the near future, and will be added onto the thread after the initial release of this review. And as a pre-warning, I'm sorry for any bad-quality pictures, I took all of them with my phone.[/release] :siren:Prepare your network balls, as it is becoming a 56K warning zone:siren: The review will be divided into a few parts, as follows: Overview (What you're reading right now) Technical Specifications What's inside the magical box -Sub-Category: Shooting Test (The shooting test will be done later) Front of the AEG Middle/Some Internals Back of AEG Conclusion Let's get onto the review. Technical Specifications First off, we have some technical specs, kindly provided by www.guay2.com Material: Stainless/Aluminum/Steel/Zinc/Plastic/Nylon/Fiber Overall Length: 780 mm Weight: 2500g Gear box bearing: 8mm oilless Motor: 25000 rpm Hi-torque Short axis Inner Barrel Length: 357 mm Magazine: 450 Rounds Muzzle Velocity: 90-100m/sec with 0.2gBB (although, I have heard that it's higher, this is about 330 FPS) What's Inside the Magical Box This is where shit get's picture-happy. It's a plain box, nothing special. Open the box, and you're greeted with a manual, cleaning rod, AEG, hi-cap magazine, and a little pack of BBs, no battery or charger. On to the manual: As you can see, the manual is very flashy, with a bunch of basic information. (Sorry about the quality of the pictures) In the manual, it's all in perfect english, and not chinese english, I can safely say that it's one of the best manuals I've ever seen. In the manual, it pretty much tells you how to clean your gun, has a parts list, how to fire it, etc.. Now, since we're doing a quick overview of what's in the box, let's move onto the 450rd Hi-Cap magazine. The G&G magazine (left) is longer than a standard STANAG magazine (Right, DBoys midcap), and has a more greyish tint to it. The build quality of the G&G magazine is very good, including small details such as little things like "G&G ARMAMENT" stamped on the bottom, etc..(shown below) As a test of the finish against scratching from normal wear, I put the magazine into the CM, and out, and in again repeatedly, and you can only see minor greyish marks, much unlike the DBoys magazines which scratch sort of easily and you get a shiny color when you scratch it. As you can see, there are nice marking regarding the round size of the real steel weapon. The G&G ARMAMENT markings as stated above. Alright, now we're onto the G&G Combat Machine M4A1, blowback version. The red sticker does come off, I just haven't taken it off. Front of the AEG What's more to like than the business end of the rifle? The AEG comes with a small red barrel cap, it does well enough I guess to do what it's intended. I have taken a magnet to the whole AEG, and on the front end, I believe the barrel is zinc, the front sight post is the strong polymer that the main body is, but with a diffrent feeling finish. The only parts in the front of the AEG that reacted with the magnet was the small disc-type-thing that holds the handgaurds, as well as the delta ring. According to WolvesSoulZ, the G&G CM Blowback comes with a 6.04mm barrel, but I really don't have a way to confirm this, but I guess he's probably right. I believe the flashhider is removable, as there is a tiny hole for a screw or something in the top, unfortunately, it isn't painted orange, it's orange polymer. Another thing to note is that this AEG has some of Top Tech's internals to my belief, and from what I hear. Now, about those sexy handgaurds. They are a god damned BITCH to get open. It just be that I have twig arms, my battery might be too big, or I just haven't broken the spring in the delta ring in, but the spring is god damned strong. I have a 9.6v, 1600Mah battery, and it takes a bit to get used to figure out how to get the battery in there right, as an ounce of room is taken by the faux gas tube (shown below). The plug for the battery is a MINI-TYPE plug. The fake gas tube. The Middle of the Rifle/Some Internals Because I don't know jack shit about internals, i'm just going to say that it has a metal gearbox, and according to the G&G website, a high torque motor, as well as a spring release feature not found on the regular G&G Combat Machines. Left side of the AEG, you see the G&G trademarks, selector switch, polymer trigger, etc.. All I can say about this Polymer is that it feels very sturdy. I feel confident in the plastic on this gun, I mean, AirsoftGI dropped one of these from 9 feet and nothing happened to it. Compared to the Classic Army Sportline M4A1, the plastic on this is godlike, and it doesn't creak, as the Classic Army M4 does. Right side of gun, dust cover closed. There's not much to this side, except when the dust cover is open (and it eventually does on it's own during firing) Of course there's the famous G&G pneumatic blowback that uses extra air from the gearbox or something, again, I'm not a technician. Aside from the blowback, which will be shown in a future shooting test, there is a really cool feature with the forward assist that lets you decompress the spring and relieve tension on the gears and such, I use this feature quite often, and it will be shown in the future shooting test. Open dust cover, showing the hopup gears. Oh boy, the hop up. When I first adjusted the hopup on this, it was a bitch to adjust, the gear is harder than hell to move. Maybe it's just me and that it was cold out, or that it needs lubrication or something, but i'll warn you, it's hard to move it. Well at least when you get it adjusted, you know it isn't going anywhere. On another note, the carrying handle is removable via thumbscrews on the other side, and it reveals some nice rails for optics. Here's a nice bit of carrying handle, I was surprised to see so many little marking everywhere where it seemed that it should have them, the sights are not an exception. Back of AEG It looks like we're off to the back of the rifle. Obligatory FPS view picture The stock, sorry about the blurry picture. There's not really much to talk about here, as it will just be about the stock. With the G&G Combat Machine M4A1, of course, you get yourself an adjustable stock, for short people like me, or larger people as well, making the rifle more comfortable overall. The stock also comes in handy with CQB situations, as you can adjust it and the rifle won't be a nuisance when going around corners and junk. The stock is made of the strong polymer everybody loves, and the buffer tube is made of metal, not reacting to the magnet test, but it definitely isn't potmetal. I've actually had a few problems with my stock and buffer tube. The first thing that happened was that the screw for the adjustment button/handle/lever thing came loose, but it doesn't screw up now. A problem that confused me was that after having it for less than a month, the buffer tube came very loose, and Facepunch's diagnosis was the screw inside the tube, so after I tightened the screw, it works great, I haven't had any problems with it, and I hope I don't in the future, but it doesn't seem like too big of a problem that isn't hard to fix. Conclusion Now, I know that i'm going to probably sound like everyone else and their grandmother, but I think for about $170.00, this AEG is excellent for the price, with blowback and the tension release feature. This rifle feels very sturdy, and I can feel confident and have pride with this as my primary. Sure, I always want a KWA in the future, as there are probably many better guns than the G&G Combat Machine M4A1, but I think this gun is great for more budget orientated players who can't afford a KWA, and again, I think it is excellent for the price. Thanks for sitting through this huge OP, and I hope you guys like it and I hope many people learn something from this, and again, the shooting test will be added soon. I know you all have been waiting for this, so here's the Chips the Cat Seal of Approvalâ„¢ It's a Pussy in a Basket
thats a good pussy
w0w00t likes furry pussies. also good review, the spring release feature sounds like a nice thing to have.
You've brought pictures of the cat. This pleases us. We enjoy Maine Coons. Gun's pretty great, looking forward to seeing the shooting tests along with some video action of that gas blow back.
I thought it would have a nicer box like my new G&G Gr15 Raider EBB, Christmas ready. (Phone Camera) Pretty much the same as the Combat Machine, mine didn't come with a barrel cap though, except with a RIS/RAS and wired to the back.
dats a box
I used to have those same sheets and quilt
How's the blowback?
The blowback almost always works better when the gun is loaded, but itMs nice, not exactly what you call strong, but you cann feel and hear it.
Is this the same as http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/G-G-M4-GR-16-Blowback-Two-Tone-Airsoft-Gun-Package-Deal_ANHG0.aspx?0?
It looks like it.
My friend got the exact same gun and... the blowback seems to catch and perform as effectively due to something sticky or something and the dust cover thing that holds it closed snapped other than that accurate and good gun
You could have at least put a sexy scope on it
I don't own a sexy scope yet, but I plan on getting one.
mine came in a purdy green box has since been sold to buy very old jackets....
Very cool gun, I promise you the hicap mag they sent you WILL BREAK, maybe not now, maybe not in a month, but it will.
Very cool gun, I promise you the hicap mag they sent you WILL BREAK, maybe not now, maybe not in a month, but it will.
I've had my GI gun since February of last year and it's still going strong.
I've had my GI gun since February of last year and it's still going strong.
The G&G Hi-Cap?
G&G STANAG Hi-caps are fucking rad bro, I'd even say almost kalashnikov-strong.
Yeah. So far it's been great.
I wish I knew how to take the RIS system off of my Raider. I kind of wish I got this version but I really needed a gun with rail space.
I wish I knew how to take the RIS system off of my Raider. I kind of wish I got this version but I really needed a gun with rail space.
How's that rail been holding up? It's the polymer RIS right?
Yeah, holding up fine considering I never use it and keep it covered in rail covers all the time. Once I get my foregrip I'll be using it more. I ordered better railcovers from Ebairsoft but I think they're sold out because they didn't send them yet. It came in real handy during the Night Op when I had my flashlight, Gripod and Laser all fixed to it.
I'm loving my Magpul grip. Fits perfectly in my hand.
AFG? /caps
RVG grip. I might get an AFG.
Very cool gun, I promise you the hicap mag they sent you WILL BREAK, maybe not now, maybe not in a month, but it will.
Story time! I was at a game and there was this this kid there who was like 12 patrolling around and talking to people. I guess it was his first time playing. So he comes to be and I'm being all nice and friendly and he keeps saying stuff like "Huh? KWA? Those suck get a JG." "What? Your bald? Lolfail?" "Your using OE Tech gear? Use Condor it's better." Those are all exact quotes. So I was using two G&G Hicaps that game as I have piles of them and planned to sell a few off. When he wouldn't shut up about my amounts of fail I bash my mag against the side of his head, throw it on the ground, and cuss him out. I continued to use that mag the rest of the day, and sold it, and two others later. EDIT: The rest of the day he followed me and complimented me on most things I did.
kawaii why are you bald
kawaii why are you bald
Was bald. It grew back. I got teh cancer.
I'm glad you got better
