10.5/10 Amazing version. Why I'm talking about it again? That edition has all the songs remixed. The new mastering is amazing, to put it simply. Some tracks feel completely different in a way that is slightly hard to describe. The greatest difference, in my opinion, was in Alive (hurr), where I can differentiate the tracks so well I can almost listen to it all at once, separately. Strongly recommended.

Jesu - Jesu - 2004 A Having already been accustomed with the "Drone Doom" and Shoegaze sounds... this being a mixture of pretty much things I already like, is just a treat. So glad to have discovered them, they blend sounds so well and keep it so unique. The great thing about this album is that although it consists of long songs it never loses it's energy. It keeps me hooked on their "drone" sound while having a constant sense of creativity with their simple lyrical expression. A keeper definitely. Not bad, just not my thing.
Looks intriguing. I may look into that, I feel I like "Avant Garde Prog Metal" [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine: Biomech - 1997 A First album of his I listened to... and it's pretty much a great record. It's not going beyond any bounderies of the genres and the styles are very similar... but this can hint at such creativity that keeps you drawn in. In parts it is actually more "modern prog" than I was anticipating, and that is a very good thing. Not much to delve further because it is only my first listen. But it is a stunning album, and for a debut this is better. [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] Devin Townsend - Terria - 2001 A- Less power than the Ocean Machine, much more smoother and less in-your-face. It's still a gripping and essential record, but I feel it is meanders on thrills and makes it more complex than it actually is. But still, this is well put together and the playing is sublime. Song-writing I can't really judge on much seeing as I haven't become fully familier with it yet, on first hand it was pretty good though. A good ride.

Clark - Body Riddle Yeah, it's a warp release... So what you get is some fine experimental techno but clark often throws just about any other music format, from folk to bells. one excellent example is ted. you won't find aphex twin's or autechre's famous minimalist song structures here. clark operates more on a sound collage level, building then destroying at every single turn. sometimes it can be a bit crazy and impossible to understand. the reason i'm giving it 4/5 is because the album just looses steam at the end. body riddle is too unfocused to be really great. bjorkometer: 4/5
4x4=12 - Deadmau5 3/10 This album didn't deliver, deadmau5 is an artist who should be able to deliver something better than this. The album seems to record a complete change in musical style for the Canadian DJ, going from his usual slow House to something more fast paced and dance-y not to mention a foray into Dubstep with ''One Trick Pony''. Ironic, because that's how I'd describe this album, a compilation of experimental work released as an album. Deadmau5 seemed to take a risk stepping out of his musical comfort zone, a risk that didn't pay off, re-releasing ''Everything Before'' (It Sounds Like) seems to sum up the half arsed effort of this album.
Deadmau5' got lazier or something, I can't think of a better excuse as to why his quality decreased so much, so quickly.
Deadmau5' got lazier or something, I can't think of a better excuse as to why his quality decreased so much, so quickly.
He's actually admitted that he didn't put enough effort into it.
