Normally I wouldn't bother putting albums made by the music team of a webcomic here but this an exception, because unlike the other albums in the series this doesn't sound at all like video game music. 9/10 Not really the kind of album you'd listen to on a regular basis, as each track is slow, usually lacking in percussion, and drawn out. Makes for some sick ambient music though. If you're into ambient music or willing to give it a shot, take a listen to this. Hell, listening's free, in the link below. homestuck.bandcamp.com
HyperMagicMountain - Lightning Bolt Really intense noise rock. The catchy compositions doubled with the deliciously heavy guitar and drums make this Lightning Bolt's best album, in my opinion. 5 Lightning Bolts out of 5

This thread lacks really bad ratings :smug:
The antlers - Hospice has a really interesting atmosphere and with that, also a very interesting singer. the songs usually take on a bit of a post-rocky feel, no guitar heroes here. also contains lyrics ranging from the touching to the bizarre. reminds me a bit of kid-a. bjorkotron: 4 indie bjorks out of 5

I would only listen to an album all the way through if I was enjoying myself anyway On a related note I wouldn't review an album I hadn't heard all the way through

Some of the tracks were weird as shit but nonetheless unique in its own way. Sheila was a favorite of mine
are you telling us to dislike more music akayz that doesn't sound very you
Rating it bad.... doesn't mean you have to dislike it :smug: St Anger is a bad album but I LAWV IT :woop:
Well it depends on if you're rating it critically or from how much you like listening to it.

Try looking for something you feel more accustomed to, there are bad albums out there that you can still like :v:
It's easy to listen through a Lady gaga album done it several times :smug:
CCR - Cosmo's Factory 9/10 they fucking rock!

The Empyrean - John Frusciante [img_thumb]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_dbwwRTgvoA4/TCT91CqGKdI/AAAAAAAAACo/LrdZXXtdAQA/s1600/empyrean-cover.jpg[/img_thumb] I might have reviewed this in some other thread awhile ago, but I forget. It's an interesting album, and definitely experimental. The album art itself is a good representation of just how weird and chaotic it is. Still, I think it's a pretty awesome album, and John Frusciante probably has one of my favorite voices, at least when he sings high. 8.5/10 for me, I think it's worth a listen if you like experimental, and weird concept albums.
He really is, you should have been a bit more pressing so I could've heard it earlier. :smug:
If you like experimental "dubstep", but not singer/songwriter poppy stuff, check out Mount Kimbie's Crooks & Lovers album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fnv1CpfMq8

Loveless - My Bloody Valentine no there's nothing wrong with your stereo-system. no you didn't download a shoddy rip. no it's not a bootlegged version. loveless is the one album i'd give to any guitarist that told me "i don't wanna play rock and roll anymore". even though the methods used on this album are very simple (i accomplished about the same thing by pushing my reverb through my amp with everything turned to 10) it sounds unlike anything else. add the sleepy droopy vocals and you've got something that sounds like a minor threat concert on ecstasy. undeniable influence to anything post-rock related. bjorkulator score: 5 sleepy bjorks out of 5 BONUS!!!!: why not listen to it while you got the chance? Loveless - My Bloody Valentine Cool album. Crazy, weird, strange, and cool. Kode9 & The Space Ape - Black Sun Rating: A+ If you are a lover of dubstep, and not just the kind that makes you want to punch the nearest abortion doctor, this is the album for you. All the songs have their own interesting aspects, and are not just mindless dance tracks. What you'll hear is hard to explain, but that doesn't take away from how good overall this album is. If you've never listened to spaceape, you will probably be upset that he doesn't do much singing, it's more of spoken word/rap, but it goes great with the darkness of the music. I'm just going to shut up and recommend this to anyone who likes mala, zomby, the bug, kode9 & space ape :|, etc.

Absolutely amazing voidy mix of shoe-gaze and post-rock. Atmospheric, moody and deep - probably my favorite album of all time It saddens me deeply that this band is so unheard of when this album is seriously this amazing. They don't even have a wikipedia page. They only made ~500 copies by themselves and published it through Enemies List Home Recordings. You can however buy it for $5 digitally which comes with a 75 page book that was written by some history professor about the themes of the album. I will oversell you this album -- I cannot recommend it more.
