Since there seems to be quite a bit of users posting music in the creative works thread I figured I would go about making this thread for them. Rules: 1. Only music and sounds belongs here. Videos are okay as long as they are music. 2. This thread INCLUDES works in progress pieces. 3. Make good music. Just like every other thread, two second shit doesn't cut it. 4.Give feedback. This is the most important rule. The reason the music isn't posted in it's own thread is because the user feels that it's not complete enough to make one. Tell him/her why! :siren::siren::siren::siren::siren:
LEGAL DISCLAIMER Any and all work created in this thread is under copyright of the person who created the piece. http://upload.moogen.org/uploads/whitespace/Experiment%201.mp3 Inspired by Nik Bärtsch. [editline]A[/editline] Click. Added two violins to it, they're playing their own melody over and over again but yet it sounds like there are multiple melodies. I love polymeters.
I will post some of my songs soon [editline]06:31PM[/editline] so don't die
http://www51.zippyshare.com/v/94652118/file.html Ambient/dubstep I'd say. Part one of a two part song- I'm going to take this vibe and put it in a tech/house setting for part two. Edit- wow zippyshare streaming really rapes the quality. Kind of annoying as I've got a lot of high-pitch pops and clicks going on. Good thing this is only a draft.
http://www48.zippyshare.com/v/64908480/file.html Some dubsteppy ambient but still not dubstep. I dont know what to call it, but hey, it sounds good right? It needs Eq'ing and a more "easy to listen to" drop, and a second drop.

You gotta learn to improvisatorily expand the motif with other licks. That is, you have a good base, but you nedd to practice improvising a lot more if that's the path you're choosing. Also, the pickiing was a bit sloppy.
A very early WIP, it's turned to dubstep and the lyrics are still questionable. What d'you guys think? http://soundcloud.com/mandc/when-i-look-into-your-eyes-jeffries-vip-edit-wip
What's up, Facepunch? None of you are very likely to have known this, but I've actual been an amateur (though aspiring) music producer for about 6 months now! Let me show you some of my stuff: First, I'll present Ghashang, unique in several ways: [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emByvWhNWXs&fmt=22[/hd] 1. It's my only psytrance track (or attempted psy track, at least) 2. It's the only one I have on Youtube 3. I wrote it in a brief stretch of time where I wanted to call myself "Sub Five." God knows why. If you found that bearable, I have some other music for you, all written by me, of various genres: Fracture: (hardstyle) [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP_zEF0tlPA&fmt=22[/hd] Stasis: (ambient house? Is that a thing?) [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY9eXxj5VX4&feature=channel[/hd]

Long way home- a nice house track.
Hopes and Dreams- some happy trance, late '90s style.
Shattered Emerald- a pretty nice trance track. If you're into that stuff, I've written some more. <--- 3 tracks
Brain Damage [WiP]-my latest track, an electrohouse tune that will rock the dancefloors- or, at least your bedroom. Give it a listen, it's pretty sick! You shouldn't repeat the same thing over and over.
That link's broken, track here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/342379
I'm gonna get rainbows for this, but I thought the title of the track was System Cock Ring D: Anyway, the track. I think it could do with some more interesting sounds. You've got kick/snare/hats, bass, and a synth over the top. It feels like there needs to be more texture. The little flourishes on the synth where quite nice (around 1:38 and onwards). Overall, it was quite bland, quite generic. The melody was quite good, but the track needed that little extra something to make it stand out.
Like what? :frown:
Like what? :frown:
Like another synth over the top playing a higher, less regular melody, or some extra percussion, or some pads... :v:
I had pads. :colbert:
Third revision. Me and my friend want to do a parody or something of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and this is what I have so far. Criticism would be nice. http://filebox.me/view/bw1ditwd6 The parts that are yet to be recorded include signing, a rap during the funky part, and a beat box solo. The guitar solo may be rerecorded.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2897141/Kilvert-GuitaruII.mp3 alternate: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/342589 I think that I've finished this now! Take a listen, it's violins, guitars, electronic chill out. Millions of layers.
What I'm saying still holds true. You shouldn't repeat the same thing over and over.
You are saying its amateur to repeat over again, but that's what I was aiming to accomplish, so I don't really think its amateur to do something I was aiming for
You are saying its amateur to repeat over again, but that's what I was aiming to accomplish, so I don't really think its amateur to do something I was aiming for
Well you can keep saying that for all eternity but it won't help you get accepted as a musician But by posting here I assume you want to progress, no? If so, you should start listening to critisism
Well you can keep saying that for all eternity but it won't help you get accepted as a musician But by posting here I assume you want to progress, no? If so, you should start listening to critisism
I'm not looking for acceptance as a musician, just posting stuff to see what people think, and you communicated your opinion so move on. You are under the impression that I repeated that piece as if I couldn't think of something else, which is not true, I made it that way because I wanted too
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2897141/Kilvert-GuitaruII.mp3 alternate: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/342589 I think that I've finished this now! Take a listen, it's violins, guitars, electronic chill out. Millions of layers.
It's good chill out music. I wish there was more of a pretense of a melody, or a focus on some instrument. Nothing has to stand out of course, but it may be good to bring some focus in certain parts. [editline]08:16PM[/editline] Does anyone know of a good artist site where the user can organize their uploaded music by album and re-upload songs and not a big song limit cap? I'm using myspace right now and it is a big pain because if I want to upload a newer version of a song I have to delete the previous and then fill out all the same info.
Does anyone mind giving me some advice on whats the best software for composing and editing music, I have a guitar I'm learning to play and I have a friend who has a keyboard and I want to create all the other intrument noises on the computer. Does anyone know what would be best for me?
FL Studio's pretty okay, and you really don't need any hardware.
Didn't think hardware would be needed, just a sound card, mic and maybe some intruments to make a load of noise with.
Didn't think hardware would be needed, just a sound card, mic and maybe some intruments to make a load of noise with.
I use FL Studio for instruments I don't have, but try to record everything with Pro Tools( best recording software I've ever used ).
