Reading a bunch of stories about ~oooo computers being haunted~ does get to be creepy after a little thought. It would be relatively simple for someone to create malware that emulates a haunted computer or suddenly blasts you with a screamer. I personally have experienced a variant of the Vundo virus - downloaded automatically through an ad banner via browser exploit - that changed my desktop background into a scareware message (and it did indeed scare the shit out of me). Thankfully, malware tends to be created for economic reasons nowadays instead of just to mess with people, but there's always the possibility.
Does anyone have the 4chan innawoods story where OP was with some airsofting buddies and some Army recruits when a recruit went missing and they get stalked by something while they look for him?
Finally found it: [t]http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Spoopy+shit+some+scarey+shit+i+found+on+4chan_26692a_5353661.png[/t]

I have another spook story I found on /x/: [t]http://i.imgur.com/bx7KU.png[/t]
I have another spook story I found on /x/: [t]http://i.imgur.com/bx7KU.png[/t]
Good read, but honestly you could see the ending coming from like a mile away.
i liked this moralez comic strip because at least I can say what's going on

Is it alright to discuss nightmares and other sleep-related creepiness? Cause I've got one, although I'm not sure if it's creepy or funny in hindsight. I used to take sporadic naps back in highschool. As soon as I got home I’d crash into bed and die for a couple hours. I remember that I’d normally wake up to dinner being almost ready. Yes, I was a lazy prick, but I digress. When I took these naps, just before losing consciousness, I’d invariably hear this incredibly strange ‘music’. The only way to describe it would be that it sounded like distorted rap music. The one I remember the best sounded a little like Kanye West’s “Gold Digger,” but much slower in tempo and with gibberish lyrics. The creepy part wasn’t really the music, so much as the clarity of it. It felt like I’d slipped headphones over my head and tuned into hell’s local RnB station. If I knew how to write music I could probably recreate that “Gold Digger”-like song perfectly, sans lyrics. The lyrics were always impenetrable gibberish. Very guttural, too. If I had to recreate them, I’d say it sounded something like this: “Dah mah cay, dah mah cay. Ohh Ohh ohhh. Day dah oh oh oh.” The funny thing is, I don’t even like rap music that much. So it wasn’t a case of the music I listened to during the day becoming distorted by my brain. So yeah, I used to be plagued by demonic rapping before taking my daily nap. Maybe it was my body’s way of telling me to be less of a lazy asshole?
This is my favourite kind of spooky story, anyone have anything else like this that I could read?
I can't stand any story where the author has to spend even a sentence talking about the gun he brings, especially when it is largely irrelevant. It speaks of some armchair warrior trying way to hard to sound cool. I know its /k/ but really. To be honest, that's what all gun nuts sound like on the internet. Like, if you really liked owning a gun just to shoot or hunt with it, you wouldn't spend so much fucking time name dropping it. It's like, I use my car to get from point A to point B, but I don't have to tell anyone what car I have. Like, you really expect me to believe the fucking army recruited a bunch of airsoft yokels to go look for a missing person(s)? I know these stories are fake but goddamn the suspension of disbelief cannot stretch it this far. Plus, most of them are terrible, fanfiction-level writers.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYxrnDjNQZIs_aAcdhqSveg This guy's Seriously Strange and Serial Killer File series are great. Well as great as morbid shit can be. Just ignore the "Why would you put that on the internet" stuff, it's just not that funny, but the rest is really interesting. I learned about some stuff thanks to his vids, and some subjects talked about in them are pretty creepy

I remember wondering why the fuck they'd bring airsoft guns with them while doing the search.
If we're still discussing dreams, I had one where one of my friends was ripping my arm apart with a syringe. I couldn't move and he was laughing the entire time.
Do you happen to have a fear of giving blood? Also I had another "lights won't work, gotta escape" dream last night. Or probably one of the preceding nights.
After watching a horror movie, I don't know why but I had a dream where me and a friend sat in front of his desk and I mentioned I was hungry He was like "Here, I've brought something for you." It was a chopped leg of a woman. I don't know who it was. "Just try it, they say it keeps you looking young!" He casually said I took a bite, and kept eating. It was raw and hard to dig into. After eating I told him "man i have to get that taste of that meat out of my mouth" and proceeded to eat a wooden chair that was the same material as bread don't ask because I don't even know anymore.

I've been having a shitfuckton of recurring dreams since I was like, super young. They've all been to the effect of cars driving themselves, or like, the driver getting out of the car and leaving me to take over so it doesn't, y'know, fucking crash. I had one a while back where I was driving through a McDonald's drive-thru from the passenger seat not inherently creepy or spoopy or dark or anything but we were talking about dreams so I thought I'd hop on board

I see TONS of noise (the screen-effect) in darkness and if it's super-quiet I start seeing shapes in the noise. But it's VERY clearly just things I've seen on TV, in videogames, on the street etc. like grim reaper, spiders (which I don't fear at all), all kinds of Lovecraftian monstrosities (which I find fascinating) and just normal people. I think it's because of that effect you can also get by taping half of ping ball over your eyes, causing your brains to go "Come on! Where's all the stimuli? Here have some!" Come on brain, you're going to have to try harder than that to freak me out. Effort/10.

I actually had one last night about my family and I going into a shelter we installed in our basement. I didn't witness any bombs going off in this most recent dream, but through the whole dream I could just feel they were "there" as I was in the shelter. Like, it's ridiculous how often I have them. Once or twice a month. I remember a lot of them pretty well too.
My old reoccurring dreams from when I was a kid sounds pretty wimpy compared to the other stories in here. I would always get bit by a squirrel, and I would fall to the ground in slow motion. Right before I woke up, I would just see a bunch of newspapers flying into my face. A scarier one that I had a few times was me walking down the street to my cousin's house. The streets were empty, and all the sudden I'd hear this rumbling like an earth quake and a bunch of giant spiders would start scurrying around. These things were like 7 feet tall.
Hello I am the resident fucked-by-nightmares guy I dealt with common night terrors and sleep paralysis for 10 years, from ages 4-14. I have bad memory from dyspraxia so I have trouble remembering even a few days back but I can remember my very first night terror and now I have horrible insomnia because at night my room comes alive and I start seeing arms and shit coming from the walls, too vivid to be a trick of the light. Even if I blind myself by wrapping a blanket around my head I still can't sleep. I'm 19 now so I guess I've had insomnia for about 15 years? cool huh Oh and these night terrors weren't weird vivid crap, they were waking up like normal and then something wrong appeared and it basically made my comfort zone smaller and smaller until I was unable to fit into it any more.
I had a dream recently where I was the last one alive after a huge number of surgical robots malfunctioned and started dissecting everyone, so there were dead people everywhere with their innards neatly removed. In the dream these horrible robots were after me, and wanted to like, add me to their collection of dismembered corpses. I survived by hiding under dead people and woke up with a cold sweat .3. The thing the really creeped me out was the fact that all the colors of the dream were really pukey and oil-pastel-like The robots kinda looked like this asshole: I don't know why I've always been afraid of robots, they just really freak me out compared to things that everyone else finds creepy
Some weeks ago (maybe a month or so) I was lying in my bed trying to sleep. Closed my eyes and waited a pretty long time until I started feeling pretty sleepy. Like, I felt like I was sleeping. Then out of nowhere I hear this calm, low voice say something like "I'm the one watching over you" again and again, faster and faster (kinda like an echo, but different). Good thing was that I actually felt safe. It was something with it that made me feel comfortable and protected, so I just went ahead and tried to sleep again.
Ever have a thought or visual in your mind that seems oddly vivid? There's two that always pop into my head. One is a sandy looking city from above, but with no movement and another is a dark slightly bloody wall in a basement of some sort only lit by clearly the light of a flashlight.
i think the weirdest stuff about dreams is not the dreams themselves, but waking up and having to take a moment, even if it's just a split second, to realize what you just lived through isn't real
