Which way is the front?
Which way is the front?
the way the exhaust is not pointing in? [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] progress
Re-worked it. Yeah I like it more now.
wow that actually looks decent. suggestion, add some planes with rain on them extending into the background to get a kinda fog effect from the layers of rain. right now the rain looks flat.
Attract daemon.
Thank you. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline]
Err.. Let me see if I got that straight, you want to create an inner half circle, Then engrave something in it? I would say: create a cylinder, then a box, make them the exact same width, and convert them to poly. Choose the cylinder, and delete half of the circle, also delete the top and bottom, click the entire object using the "object selecting thingy" and not the "faces selection thingy" inside of polymode, and with the entire object selected, click the "flip" option, which is little low down on the.. Thingy.. Anyway, do the same with the box, delete the face facing the cylinder, and the top and bottom, then flip the box, then weld them together :)
Thank you for your help, Domino, as I greatly appreciate it. Currently, I am trying to create the shape of one of those mario hills as an engravement, an outline dug into my model in the shape of one of those hills. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] Also, made my first ever model. Here is my take for two different lighting rigs.
roof is too saturated/bright/whatever? y/n
wow that actually looks decent. suggestion, add some planes with rain on them extending into the background to get a kinda fog effect from the layers of rain. right now the rain looks flat.
Thanks, actually it is flat, I just shooped it in after. I'll play around with it.
roof is too saturated/bright/whatever? y/n
No, but because the building looks old and worn, yes. Desaturate it.
yeah this is better
Btw, Dog-gy, your picture looks very familiar.
Model the roof.
'Zoofly' Strobe flashes. So recently I've taken a big interest in photography and noticed when I came back to max recently, that the V-ray plugin had a lot of complex camera settings, such as f-stop, shutter speed and focal length. I decided to divert my attention to creating an array of photography equipment, possibly to sell on turbosquid and to use in scenes for added realism (and coolness).
Btw, Dog-gy, your picture looks very familiar.
the asteroids? [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] also i made this im doing one of these a day to get better. this is day 2
Maya 2012 will have integrated DMM, yay!
Dog-gy* You look like a kid named Tixe, that I used to know in college.
wow he must be a hottie like me! [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] cutie with a booty
How 2 camera match.. To this (the floor is a perfect lens reference) I thought punching in the lens (i guess 18mm) into a vray camera would work but it doesn't. WTF is going on here? From what I know, the settings are correct.. Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) 1/1 second ===> 1 second Lens F-Number / F-Stop 45/10 ===> ƒ/4.5 ISO Speed Ratings 400 Original Date/Time 2011:03:02 15:21:21 Shutter Speed Value (APEX) 0/1 Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) 1/1 second Aperture Value (APEX) 433985/100000 Aperture ƒ/4.5 Flash Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode Focal Length 18/1 mm ===> 18 mm Image Width 3888 pixels Image Height 2592 pixels
This is why Vray 2.0 has lens distortion tools. [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] And your floor is not even.
Maya 2012 will have integrated DMM, yay!
I think they're gonna license PhysX too for Maya 2012, seen as they did for Softimage 2011.
I think they're gonna license PhysX too for Maya 2012, seen as they did for Softimage 2011.
They did. It is used for cloth and some other shit. Maya is becoming a great tool for game dev.
They did. It is used for cloth and some other shit. Maya is becoming a great tool for game dev.
I meant APEX, woops. But yeah, APEX destruction stuff would be nice to have easily accessible in Maya.
I meant APEX, woops. But yeah, APEX destruction stuff would be nice to have easily accessible in Maya.
Why do you need APEX when you got DMM?
Why do you need APEX when you got DMM?
Because Apex is more widely used, Dmm isn't compatible with PhysX and tbh PhysX is better.
modeling to roof would rape my polycount [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline]
Because Apex is more widely used, Dmm isn't compatible with PhysX and tbh PhysX is better.
i think he might be talking about for prerendered animations
model every atom on the roof
model every atom on the roof
Atom level point cloud :v:
more texturing progress. now with flat windows
Looks better than the church, but the roof looks kinda blurry
Looks better than the church, but the roof looks kinda blurry
i think it has to do with the angle of the camera to the surface, looks fine top down. when im done with the diffuse ima throw it into crazybump and get some normals, etc.
