what do you guys think an SCP foundation movie would be about? i'm thinking simething like "The Taming of Six-Eight-Two" or just something leading up to Montauk-110, but shit there are so many SCPs that would make great movies
I think something less about the SCPs themselves and more about the fiction based around the Foundation itself would work better. Like, there was a story by Clef (can't remember the name, it's the one where Bright goes batshit and everybody tries to kill him before everything goes wrong) and it was so incredibly cinematic that it could be adapted to film with ridiculous ease.

it is

Never heard of that one, sounds like a good read.
For some reason I've always imagined Foundation agents to look like those white-vested Aesir security guys from Max Payne.
Got a link? Never heard of that one, sounds like a good read.
I'll try and find it. Gimme a second. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] Think I found it. It's pretty damn good anyways.

dem typos. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline]
Funny, I always thought the SCP foundation agents wore fedoras and 1950's rain coats. Equipment for the MTFs vary, therefore their appearances do. You won't see heavily armed guys in the disinformation MTF.
I honestly think that SCP-173 is a Non-Corporeal entity that inhabits statues like angel statues. With the image I posted earlier, it shows a large black mass. That could be what is hiding inside all those statues.

And why the fuck don't they? a little 173 vignette
And why the fuck don't they? a little 173 vignette
i really don't like that article.
And why the fuck don't they? a little 173 vignette
I don't see the need to change the original any. 173 multiplying just seems rather...out of character. There are certain things you come to accept as fact with some SCPs, and 173 just being a killer statue that moves when not being observed is one of those things. There just isn't anything else to it.
Why the hell is it in Wales?

[t]http://liveaction.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/agentsmith.jpg[/t] This would mean that the SCP Foundation is only a crazy conspiracy to everyone. Anyone who spills the beans on being visited by them is 'somehow' branded insane by the general pubic. After being taunted by the public, they start going into a state of social solidarity until they basically go insane. This would mean any strange phenomenon (E.G. - MothMan, UFO's, Lizard Men etc) are actually SPB's, and that after seeing one they'd [presumably] be contacted by the Agents [who would be the M.I.B.]. Then we could go further by saying that Area 51 would be a huge SPB Containment facility.
;35316736']-pics-
The more jokes which are made about 173, the more silly it seems. It is barely creepy anymore.

If you're retrieving mundane-looking anomalous objects then it would make sense to wear MiB clothing instead of full body armor, and if you're going after a dangerous SCP then it wouldn't make sense to wear only suits.
For what it's worth, the GOC do have MiB suits.
For what it's worth, the GOC do have MiB suits.
That suit seems kind of like the writen equivalent of overpowered, to me.
+3 Generation nanofiber threads integrated into key points in outergarments to provide additional protection. Combined with undergarment, must be rated to stop rifle rounds up to .308 caliber with standard powder load at a distance of twenty meters.
I mean, a suit jacket capable of withstanding a rifle round? Really?
Personal Computing Device (PCD) integrated into a cellular phone, implanted as a cybernetic enhancement, or disguised as footwear, with satellite connection to GOC data network.
also cybernetic enhancements that are just as powerful as a regular computer exist now apparently
I mean, a suit jacket capable of withstanding a rifle round? Really?
Well, given that the suit jacket would have to be flexible too, getting hit by that force most certainly would knock you right out of the game for a while. Chest should would break a few ribs, arm shots break an arm, might even snap your spine if hit in the back. It's not rigid armor. It won't disperse the force of the hit worth shit, only stop it from penetrating.
Basically even if it doesn't penetrate it can still cause major blunt trauma or even death
So it's like a bulletproof vest; you don't get killed by the bullet, but the shock may have a significant impact.
So it's like a bulletproof vest; you don't get killed by the bullet, but the shock may have a significant impact.
It's like a much harder to penetrate but much less rigid bulletproof vest. It'll take more force to penetrate, but any and all force applied will give a hell of a lot more shock than a vest. Bulletproof vests, even without plates in them, are still somewhat firm and rigid, which aids in spreading the force of the hit out. Anything resembling a suit jacket would have to give that up. So yeah, a bulletproof suit might stop a bullet from damaging a dummy, but it sure as hell will fuck up a soft target. [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] For comparison, imagine someone hitting you as hard as humanly possible in the gut with a thumb-thickness wooden stick's end. Won't pierce the skin, but will fuck you right up just by the blunt force.
However, chances are that if it hits a part where penetration would damage the lungs, heart or other vital organs, the force will instead hit the bone and muscle, causing bruising and potentially fractures but still saving your life.
