I've heard somewhere that tube amps give a warmer more classic sound. I have no idea how will warmer sounds like, must be from some audiophile.
incredibly subjective as with all other audio "color" words, for some it means boosted low mids and others it's more in the highs - a "fuzzy" top end. it means the former most to me. whatever. and also tubes can get both of the above sounds depending on how hard you crank it.
warmer just means less harsh, smoother, deeper delivery of the music. This is all meaningless to say unless you've heard it though.
I recently completed my Los Campesinos! discography: Hold On Now, Youngster... (2008) The orange disc has a bonus track on one side and some cool etchings on the other We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed (2008) Limited edition box, not vinyl but awesome anyway (it has a tour DVD, fanzine and some mini poster thing) Romance is Boring (2010) Hello Sadness (2011) Part of a bundle, came with a CD of demos from their first album, a "Making of" DVD and a t-shirt They also do a quarterly fanzine which I didn't subscribe to but they're selling #3 on their website, so I got that. It comes with a 7" with two tracks from the Hello Sadness sessions.
you're missing sticking fingers into sockets and international tweexcore underground lol :)

lol nice tv
Nicee, they posted pictures of the pressings on their facebook, looks great. I definitely wanna get Precambrian on vinyl. It's a 3xLP, and costs $55, but it's such a good album.
Sorry for the late response. The pre-orders sold out in 72 hours, so I'm pretty lucky to have gotten one. I'm seriously considering getting Precambrian and Anthropocentric, but at this point the cost is just too much unfortunately. Having the full sized art for Anthro would be so awesome, though.
lol nice tv
Thanks. Its indestructible. 6 winters in a soaking wet trailer in my back yard and it still works great. My mom inherited it from her grandmother.
one of my dad's best friends has an old pioneer deck like that. Bought it as a student in 1977 and it's a pretty lovely thing. wish I had fancy vintage stereo stuff rather than my very average early 90's hi fi but there you go.
Thanks. Its indestructible. 6 winters in a soaking wet trailer in my back yard and it still works great. My mom inherited it from her grandmother.
6 winters ago we all switched to flatscreen LCDs.
Picked up Fleet Foxes - Helpessness Blues, Bob Marley and the Wailers - Exodus and Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demon's of Light I. The latter comes on 2 marble-effect green vinyl and the D-side is etched with some awesome tribal artwork.

At least Precambian is a triple vinyl, so I can understand why that would be pricier.
there are old people in my town how do I own/start a record shop? do teenagers or old people enjoy Neutral Milk Hotel and Justice and Daft Punk and Pink Floyd do $$$$ get hollar get $$$
new vinyls... the tracklisting holy shit
Also, could FP recommend me a turntable? I would like it to have: A pricetag under 100$ A headphone/speaker out port Plays 45 rpm 7"s and 33 rpm 12"s Dust cover (optional)
the Audio Technical AT-LP60 has been a really good starting turntable for me, so I have no problems recommending it. I've never used an expensive professional turntable, so I really couldn't compare it to anything high-end.
I would like to have Anthropocentric and Heliocentric as well, but they are so damn expensive. Granted, having the set with Anthro would be incredibly cool, even if just for the art.
Helio would be great to have, but it's not quite as high up on my "to buy" list in terms of vinyl. I've been holding out on buying any new vinyls because my Z-2300's died, so I need to get speakers first. Gonna get some M-Audio AV40's since I never used the subwoofer much, and I'm dying to have multiple inputs. Then the vinyls I want to get are "Hospice" by The Antlers, "Helplessness Blues" by Fleet Foxes, more early Rush records, and then Precambrian.
I searched through one of my dads boxes of records and I found (it really nice condition): Changesonebowie, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, the White Album,Oingo Boingo "nothing to fear", A lot of Generation X, a lot of Husker Du, a lot of The Jam, a lot of Ramones, and Blondie, and the Blasters, and X, and Beach Blvd, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (very first album), and tons more. Theres a whole other BOX of albums I haven't gone through! I don't really have to worry about buying records for my podcast right away.
Hey everybody. The DEATHCONSCIOUSNESS vinyl are here. We will be packing and shipping all week. Thanks for being patient. 666
Finally!
Got my MDR-V6s today. Good lord. They are amazing.
While I was in London the other day I found a nice little record shop in Camden and picked up this pair of beauties. There's a very small but deep scratch on the Daft Punk one though, makes it skip. But I don't give a fuck because I've wanted that record for ages.

A USB turntable will almost definitely have a USB turntable and built in amp. I'm not so certain about the ATLP60, but I believe it is a USB and has a built in preamp.
I use this it works great http://www.amazon.com/ION-Profile-LP-Vinyl-to-MP3-Turntable/dp/B0029QRA1U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328986826&sr=8-1

But does it have a headphone port? The LP60? It looks amazing. also I found Demon Days - Gorillaz at a store for 35 dollars. is it worth it? its 2 lps, is it a bootleg or real?
A USB turntable will almost definitely have a USB turntable and built in amp. And it has a built in preamp.
