I think they're just quick videos teaching you how to play the Sex Bob-Omb songs on Guitar, with the actor who played Steven Stills and some musician guy.
Well I would really like to see that. Can't find it anywhere on YouTube.
Just read the comics. Entertaining and funny, not bad at all.The movie did a pretty good job of capturing the feel of the comics, but the story was changed course about halfway through and veered off into new territory. That's not a bad thing at all, it worked out pretty darn well, but it was still a little bit disappointing. I also thought it was strange how the movie seems to take place over a few days/weeks, while the comic covered more than a year.
Biggest problem I had with the movie were two main things, which were obviously cut for time: 1. Removal of Knives' dad. 2. The Shafting of the twins. They were easily the WORST part of the movie.

I mean I do what I can, but I can barely tell what notes they're hitting with all the damn distortion going on.

All the focus during that book was on character development--the twins were just kind of background noise. I can see why they decided to take the twins to the cutting board for a more action-packed sequence. My biggest complaint was that the movie didn't do a great job giving Ramona much depth. During most of the movie Ramona acted kind of shallow and unpleasant. Gotta say, she was a lot more "approachable" in the comic. They did a pretty damn good job with Scott though. Hell, I think the casting in general was spot-on, it's just disappointing seeing all the main characters get chopped down to meet time constraints. While I totally dug the movie, all the characters seemed like they fell a little flat--Ramona especially.

But yeah, Ramona was a little "flat".

[sp]Stephen Stills isn't gay in the movie :saddowns:[/sp]
Wallace and Knives were quite good, in my opinion. But yeah, Ramona was a little "flat".
I hate just how toned down her character was in the movie. Her character wasn't nessecarily bad or anything, but they just made everything surrounding her more apathetic. Take the scene where Scott and Ramona first talk. In the comics, she was visibly embarrassed, and in the movie she kept the same bored look on her face the entire time. Anything involving emotion in her scenes were traded for a cold disposition. It works for the movie, but I think I prefer the original Ramona more.
I just watched this. I wasn't disappointed. Except for the relation between Scott and Ramona, they just didn't seem as close as they should be.
Thanks to this movie I can't watch Superman Returns without thinking he will loose his powers to kryptonite police (somehow)

I just watched this. I wasn't disappointed. Except for the relation between Scott and Ramona, they just didn't seem as close as they should be.
I think that was because of the original planned ending where he ends up with Knives.
I think that was because of the original planned ending where he ends up with Knives.
Oh, much more understandable then. I need to read the comics.
Oh, much more understandable then. I need to read the comics.
Actually, he ends up with Ramona in the comics.
[sp]Actually, he ends up with Ramona in the comics.[/sp]
You! Put spoiler tags in!
/spoiled
You! Fix your post so that the spoiler isn't in your post as well! This is a matter of "it's happened before with spoilers and it gets annoying for people who don't know".
I just watched this. I wasn't disappointed. There's 2 alternate cuts of Ramona & Scott's first date. The second one is really badly edited, but the first one is great; absolute shame that it was cut, especially since it makes the entire Ramona/Scott romance far more believable.
/spoiled
Not much of a spoiler IMO, since that's what the whole thing is about. [editline]11th December 2010[/editline]
I think that was because of [sp]the original planned ending where he ends up with Knives.[/sp]
I liked the [sp]Knives[/sp] ending more.

<- Festive Scott erryday Also great movie
Aww crap, the DVD and Blu-ray versions will get here in 2011. There goes my hopes of getting this for Christmas. :(
Watched this Friday night. Liked it quite a bit.
Serious question, and I can't be arsed to read 32 pages in case somebody else has already asked it: doesn't the ridiculous amount of fanservice in this movie bother anyone else?
What exactly do you mean by fanservice?
What exactly do you mean by fanservice?
The whole tsundere thing with Ramona magically falling in love with Scott and then wanting to fuck him on the first hangout, which was a reluctant event to begin with. There's more but this is what bothered me the most.
That's because it's an ADAPTATION. Since you didn't read the rest of the thread, you likely didn't notice that Ramona's whole cold personality was due to the intended original ending where she leaves and Scott ends up with Knives.
This movie is absolutely amazing!
Damnit, I wanted to order the precious little box set from Amazon.com, which used to cost 37$, but now it costs 60$!! This book selling website has it for sale on about 45$, but it's currently out of order and I have no idea how long will it take them to resupply.
Edgar Wright is a directing genius.
The Sex Bob-omb songs are a regular in my playlist.

WHO DOESNT LIKE IT?
Just watched this. Great movie.
