I'm working in a sailing club, helping children not drown. I'll be setting up boats and putting them out to sea, mostly.
Meddle.
Hooray for a new thread!
Huzzah!

Yeah, I wanted to show the Psych floyd more. Pop Floyd is easy.
Yeah, I wanted to show the Psych floyd more. Pop Floyd is easy.
You wanted to show Psychedelic Floyd. I wanted to show Pink Floyd.
Oh yeah, the name was thought up by Syd Barrett no? The most psychedelic man that ever lived. :smug:
I'll start listening to About Face in a bit. Thoughts?
It's good. Better than Momentary Lapse of Reason.
I already have DSOTM, The Wall and Wish You Were Here, which album should I get next?
I already have DSOTM, The Wall and Wish You Were Here, which album should I get next?
Meddle
I already have DSOTM, The Wall and Wish You Were Here, which album should I get next?
I'd say Meddle, imo. It took me some time to getting, and then a little bit more to getting into it, but when I did, I loved it all the way through.
Atom Heart Floyd Dark Side of the Floyd The Division Floyd The Final Floyd Momentary Lapse of Floyd Obscured By Floyd Piper at the Gates of Floyd Saucerful of Floyd and my personal fave Wish You Were Floyd
Listened to Meddle and Wish You Were Here at work today. I didn't really enjoy Meddle all that much, but that's probably because I was only listening with one ear. WYWH was great, though.
listening with one ear.
Do it properly man. Big speakers or over ear headphones. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Meddle usually takes a few listens before it clicks.
Not just Meddle, it's probably prog in general.
I dunno, I think i enjoyed Meddle the first time I listened to it all the way through. Like every good album, it has its flaws which I had to point out to myself, but you know.
There are flaws all over Floyd, but it doesn't really matter if you care about them enough. More about personal experience.
what flaws
I don't really want to say. :smith:
what flaws
Personally, off of Meddle, I think Fearless was a great song, but I disliked the "liverpool crowd" ending, and the repetition of the phrase "cli-i-i-imbing" at the beginning. Dude, no album is without flaws. My favorite artists - Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, The Beatles, they all release albums I love, but I'm not afraid to be critical. Even Sgt. Pepper's has flaws. But I still love all the albums.
I agree with the crowd ending, but other than that I don't really see any flaws with the album.
Oh well there's not much else in the way of flaws. It's a great album.
I was born listening to this band, Wish You Were Here to be exact. i fucking LOVE this band.
Myself, I only knew two songs (Welcome to the Machine, and Comfortably Numb). My mother had played Shine On You Crazy Diamond when I was young, and I realized this only after I became a fan. Then, I saw this video: An asteroid impact, set to Great Gig in the Sky. I immediately fell in love with the song, and searched for the album, which my parents luckily owned (along with Meddle, and The Wall, and Echoes: The Best Of). At some point I got a cool phone which let me listen to the MP3s all the way through, start to finish of the album. Then my transformation was complete.
