Their Red album is probably easier to get into, but their debut must be heard :3: Try some Pink Floyd too.
Oh yeah, Pink Floyd. Never really thought of them as progressive, I just think of them and think of classic rock. Listened to Meddle by them, it was pretty great.
The Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd is the album that got me into prog, so you might want to try that too.

One day they're Space Rock, then Psychadelic Rock then progressive rock then pop rock.... :psyduck: You'll enjoy some Genesis and Yes though.
Selling England By The Pound by Genesis and Fragile by Yes if you are interested in them :v:
They did 2 songs which are arguably even heavy metal

Feel free to add anymore to the list. I am all for making huge lists of bands that I'll never finish listening to. Check the metal challenge I set up on my Last.fm page <:

You absolutely have to try something by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Tarkus and Brain Salad Sugery are their best in my opinion.
Brain Salad Sugery
Must get an original copy of that... masterpiece.
Got a 5 hour Spotify playlist set up that'll cover the albums mentioned except all the King Crimson and Pink Floyd. Really hoping I can keep the new music mood for long enough.
Duuude Emerson Lake and Palmer are great
I'm confused, why have I not heard of them either? :psyduck: [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] Miles better than Asia.
Yea, what's up with Asia, anyways? It's like all of the best Prog artists get together and start making pop :v:. You've got to hear this version of Lark's. It's even heavier. God I love the crazy violin part. Yes, and ELP are truly great, but I only like their SERIOUS stuff. Most of their songs seem to be just foolin' around and it doesn't really appeal to me.

SU SU SUDIO c
Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes. :smug: Wait... King Crimson BECAME New Wave in their later days. :psyboom:
Have you guys heard this album Because you should Basically a Yes album under a different name
Can anyone reccomend me some ELP? I tried listening to them before but couldn't really get into them. I've developed my proggy palette a lot since then so I thought I'd give them another go. Anyone? in before Tarkus

Black Moon is pretty good as far as their later stuff goes
I myself didn't like Black Moon. The next sentence I will put inside spoiler tags, because it can cause rage. [sp]I liked In The Hot Seat more than Black Moon[/sp]
I don't know how to respond to that, so I'll just leave this in place of a response
No worries. It's like saying you like Invisible Touch more than Trick of the Tail.
Now that you mention those albums, I should probably go listen to both of them.
Just listened to Tarkus and Karn Evil 9. Damn awesome.
