Wow. That Aphrodite's Child album was pretty fuckin' cool. I'll have to get their other two(?) albums they did before 666.
Best version of indiscipline Also how I wish they did a live version of the lizard album. Lizard is one of the most overlooked crimson albums and also one of the most unique
you linked to discipline from absent lovers, but regardless i'm not denying the version of Indiscipline on that is better than the album version
Anyone listened to these guys called Aphrodite's Child? They're Greek, I'm currently listening to
Yes, that's Vangelis' band. I love their stuff.
please tell me at least one of you has heard ProjeKct Three's album because this shit is bananas king crimson does psychedelic electronic wtf is this
Is anyone here a listener of Peter Gabriel's later stuff? I'm listening to to Us in work, I've got Up at home. It's really clear to see the influence on the likes of Steven Wilson's solo stuff in Up. Lot of the same elements.

It's like I skipped 2 decades worth of good stuff. I still need to hear Us and Up.
I didn't like Scratch my Back all that much in all honesty, but I would like to hear Up and Us
Us is much more in keeping with his early stuff. Up is an absolutely incredible curveball which is really reminiscent of similar "70's heroes-gone-solo"'s later forays into darker music, but it's much more earnest sounding. Signal to Noise is one of the best, most intense songs I've heard in a while
best pianist
Speaking of journeys to the center of things...
the best prog voyage is Echoes imo. also Close to the Edge.
imo Lizard wins by far
I haven't listened to that in about a year... damn time flies.
Gates of Deliriuuuum
Speaking of journeys to the center of things...
not prog but who cares
the best prog voyage is Echoes imo. also Close to the Edge.
does this count, its about a voyage to the center of cygnus x-1. Pretty much greatest Rush song of all time, one of the greatest hard rock songs of all time, and especially up there on best prog songs ever made.
So today i got Steve Wilson's live CD, complete with signature on the front. Absolutely beautiful cover and artwork, haven't given it a listen yet though, except for what i've heard on his soundcloud This shit is intense

I was there for a few of the recordings too :3:
Knowing that you guys are huge nerds, I need help looking for a track. All I remember is that in the end there are only a bunch of vocal tracks, no instruments. I have a bad memory, but I think that the voice sounded something like Wilson's.

And this voice IS Wilson's :v:

Been playing in my head for god knows how long. How fitting that I was just about to listen to Deadwing in my search for the song as well.
Mellotron Scratch is really underrated. The ending is absolute genius, especially the switch from 4/4 to 6/8
Multiple vocal tracks singing different lines all while harmonizing is very characteristic of Wilson/PT.
Wilson is a master of layering the voice, does it in so many songs Also the live version of Veneno Para Las Hadas is incredible
Multiple vocal tracks singing different lines all while harmonizing is very characteristic of Wilson/PT.
I think Normal is my favourite example of it. "Wish I was old and a little.... sentimental"
Wiiiish I waaas [editline]1st March 2012[/editline] Nil Recurring is a really excellent EP
I think Normal is my favourite example of it. "Wish I was old and a little.... sentimental"
Mine is probably the end of Anesthetize. That technique evokes the very waves he's singing about.
I really like the one in Veneno Para Las Hadas, his voice pretty much becomes an instrument Does it in one of the other insurgentes songs too but I cant think of any uses of it in PT. One thing I have noticed is that he uses that telephone vocal effect a LOT. Also how cute:
As I was getting into bed last night, in clean pajamas, I found that somehow WillyFred had managed to piss on my right trouser-leg.
Oh Mr Fripp, when will you ever be predictable Holy shit, his online diary is just littered with mentions of his rabbit WillyFred Final Destination V in 3d apparently
