;34381393']-The culture influence. It feels inspired by Asian cultures too much. I can't relate to some themes.
Maybe because it's made by asians?
But isn't Evangelion full of the clichés that make stereotypical anime criticism? Socially awkward boy, unrealistically big-chested 14 year old girls, several moments exploring the connection of the two
You know I haven't actually watched Evangelion but I'm pretty sure every teenage female in it is as skinny as a twig.
yeah well you be the judge
Umm, that's fanart. And Mari doesn't really count because she is from the Rebuild movies.
You can bash it all you want but really it's just part of their culture. Many other foreign countries may look at our movies and say the same thing. For example, almost all american movies have happy endings. If you don't care for Anime, then there's no need to debate it.
I think there's nothing wrong with anime itself, but the fans are horrible. I've yet to find someone who is both a fan of anime and capable of not making an ass of themselves, and I have no idea why these two have to be mutually exclusive. My friends have found the same, so if I had to guess, a lot of the hatred for it comes from the serious lack of maturity in the fans.
Just like MLP the fanbase gives anime a bad name

Half the meeting was trying to hook a PS3 up to a TV while everyone drew shitty comics everywhere, then everyone went outside to play "ninja", then it was mostly yelling at each other over stupid shit. In case you're wondering, two of them were autistic, three wore cat ears, and five or so spouted nothing but Kawaii~~~ shit out of their mouths. I never went back.
I'm wondering, what exactly IS "kawaii~~~" anyway? And don't give me that whole "kawaii desu desu uguu ^_^" crap, that's excessive generalization, I want to know what it really is and how to identify it.
I remember my highschool anime club being cool until the weaboos and cod kiddies ruined it. As soon as the girl with the badly made cat ears and tail came in I knew it was over. The anime club got shut down because some neck beard got angry that we wouldn't let him grope (hug) the girls after they told him to stop and told the teacher that we didn't have an adviser.
I stick to manga. And rarely read it. Ruined in part by the internet.
no

How I used it, they're trying to act like the little cute chicks in anime, but end up being annoying as fuck.
Umm, that's fanart. And Mari doesn't really count because she is from the Rebuild movies.
It looks exactly like that in the series
It looks exactly like that in the series
yep, i sure can't spot the difference
I don't necessarily "dislike" anime. I just don't see what all the hype is about.
It looks exactly like that in the series
It does not. There are slight similarities, kind of like how Sgt Pepper is similar to Pet Sounds. Similar does not mean appears to be the same. I can say this with absolute certainty because I've seen the series and all of the films associated with it and read all of its manga. There are many subtle nuances about that fan art that separate it completely from the reference material. It's someone's interpretation of it. It's a fact that there are a lot of series with very similar art styles and that it definitely gets repetitive. There's a mountain of 'me-too' shows that all look the same, but that's just not what the show or the movies from the 90's look like and really it's not even that similar to the style of the new movies.
Kawaii means "cute" in Japanese. How I used it, they're trying to act like the little cute chicks in anime, but end up being annoying as fuck.
I see.... I know a girl similar to such a thing, she almost hits the annoying mark. Shes also one of the few remaining Florida species of "Raver", very weird girl that one.
is it just me or do you people get really weird whenever sexuality comes up i mean yeah that ero shit is fucking stupid 99 times out of 100 but it's not like it's any more stupid than Transformers or any of that schlock, and not any more pandering or offensive. it's just pandering to a different audience. fucking ignore it and move on, it's just a show jesus christ.
Its not getting weird. Its how every anime must have, in any way, someone with huge boobs (usually more than 1 person) and how their clothes somehow are ripped apart. I've watched a few animes and they always end up having something of the sort for no reason other than... who knows who the hell wants thousands of animes filled with teens with huge fucking boobs involved in anything that can and seemingly couldn't get them naked doing anything perverted and stupid stories.
Well then you've been watching the wrong shows because I just got done watching two which both had a girl with big boobs but there was no scene with ripped or minimal clothing
yeah well you be the judge
I judge that Shinji looks like a badass. Like in the Evangelion remake.
It looks exactly like that in the series
What? Shinji and Kaworu look NOTHING like that. And Asuka doesn't look that cutesy either.
I meant tit-wise
She only looks big-breasted because she is wearing a plug suit. They're supposed to be skin-tight. Her breasts don't stand out when she's wearing normal clothes.
Well then you've been watching the wrong shows because I just got done watching two which both had a girl with big boobs but there was no scene with ripped or minimal clothing
Its not every show that has it, its just a fairly ammount of them that have it for no reason at all.
Its not every show that has it, its just a fairly ammount of them that have it for no reason at all.
well then why do you write all these long winded rambling posts about them
The dislike of anime is bullshit. Anime is just Japs interpretation of cartoons. But I can truly understand and support the hatred on weaboo fags. Which can be defined by preffering a perverted cliche of what they believe to be asian-culture and are traitors to their own. Both anime-haters(western cartoon prefering) and weaboos(asian cartoon prefering) are shitheads who have to be stabbed with a good piece of reality. It is just fiction- in general ment for children or teenies. The best way to cure such decadent over-overestimate of childish fiction is to be German, by the way : D For educational porpuse; that my children is the typical weeaboo:

Most people grow out of it.
Hardly typical. Most people grow out of it.
Unproofed statement. By the way the point of interest of me was NOT the age. That doesn't matter to me because all who are in their mid 20s(25 to 30) and still have video-games, cartoons and such stuff as their hobbies [sic!] are men/woman-children in my opinion or just retarded on welfare or just have no work and no friends. I am mainly enraged by all those guys who cling to such "activities"; just 2 decades ago in the 90s anime was mainly gurls stuff, as fiction should be. The only fiction acceptable for males is science-fiction, but not all that fairy-ass-fantasy-bullshit of nowadays. It is just a close step from Harry Potter to Twilight. I guess it must be a result of the over-feminisation through leftist sexual-agenda in western states...
Compare Nier - the Western version had a grizzled middle aged former soldier as the protagonist searching for his daughter. While the japanese version had a young pretty boy looking for a sister. Overall to most people this really hurt narrative.
The original difference was that the 360 version was supposed to have the middle aged man, while the PS3 version had the pretty teen boy. I'm pretty sure this only applied to the Japanese versions, as it was probably a waste of money to translate small lines and have a different voice actor for a PS3 version.
