its all good now guys :) btw ctlic, i'd snip that link before mods see it.. warez and that
Rawtherapee is an open source software. I think it is pretty similar to lightroom but free and if you can program you can even change the code yourself and compile it. That is the beauty of open source. Every one who is interested in the project can participate and help make software available for everyone instead of just big company who mostly sell their software.
I'll be honest, i thought you were linking me to a torrent site hahaha
I tried my hand at studio-ish shots, the problem is I don't have a studio or a big space where to put a background so I just removed some crap from a wall in my room and framed the shots to avoid getting the ground or other rubbish in. They are all handheld and lit only by ambient light, which is not your typical light bulb hanging from the ceiling, I have a huge white neon pointed to the ceiling that bounces light all over so basically my room is a giant softbox. :eng101: (the shot with the whole chair would have been much better if I did it with a telephoto to compress it more and avoid showing the opposite arm rest but due to space constraints a 50mm was the longest I could go with and I shot most of them from down up to avoid getting the floor in the shot) Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on weed Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on heroin Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on crack Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on meth Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on ecstasy Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on krokodil Embody by Emanuele Monaco, on... just kidding I don't do drugs, neither should you kids!
Great product photos, paid you good?
Ahah I wish, I just did them for practice, and to get some photos of the new chair while it's new. :v:
Great product photos, paid you good?
Paid to take photos!? That's crazy talk.
Beside the unnecessary angles, good stuff. Home studio?
Beside the unnecessary angles, good stuff. Home studio?
As I said in my post it's just my room. My room (where I sleep and work) is quite messy so I just shoved all the stuff from the least messy side behind the camera and snapped away. For the lighting I just used ambient light, I changed a few years ago from your bog standard single light bulb hanging from the ceiling to a big neon which I placed over my wardrobe pointing to the ceiling on which it bounces off. It's nearly as if I had a light the size of my ceiling basically so thanks to that my room is evenly lit and has no harsh shadows which helps on the rare occasions when I shoot something inside it. I can take a shot of my room if you are curious to see how it is setup.

I got a roll from my Lomo LC-A developed, and I'm going to spread the good ones over multiple posts, rather than one big dump. Also, does anyone also know any good methods of long exposures during daylight. Set my aperture to f22 and ISO to 100 and at 2 seconds in the shade it was still coming out wayyyy too bright.
there really isn't a method for complete daylight, you'd wanna wait until dusk because then the colours will come out reaaaally nice and will be around daylight levels in the end :) great shots man!

It's my first decent camera, I was using http://static.trustedreviews.com/c0a5c7%7C1379_5809-FujiS8000fd3quart.jpg beforehand
Don't bother thumbing them parket, saves time having to click them all to see them properly. Lovely shots though. [editline]15th May 2012[/editline] Late reply, woops.
Wow it's been a long time since I posted a photo. Well here's one of my final pieces I used for my concentration for studio art. Any thoughts?
Buy yourself an ND filter.
any advice for strength? I'm looking at 30 seconds to a minute exposure times
any advice for strength? I'm looking at 30 seconds to a minute exposure times
Well you could set your shutter speed to 30 seconds and see how many stops you are below normal exposure, you'll still need to close your aperture a bit but not as extreme as going to f/16 or higher. ND/8 is 3 stops less light, which is about the same as going from 1/1000 to 1/320.
