Seen as we are on the topic of girlfriends, here's my recent ex.. Oldish photo though.. :(
perfect time to dump a picture of my ex. Here's one of my last girlfriend:
Dropping in to say pick and blaze have been doing some real nice stuff. Things have been slowing down for me, but I'm making an effort to try to ramp up my posting volume a little. Pulling a weird face here, but no do-overs. FP100c has an extremely narrow exposure latitude and this is the third try of the same shot -trial and error- getting it the last shot in the pack. I've been chipping away at a roll of Ektar too. I've wasted two frames thinking I had the automatic advance disengaged, haha.
Thanks for the kind words Steve. Nice to see you're still going at it. I'm liking the photo, combined with the jumper it has a feel nostalgic feel to it. on another note, heres my photo for today. Didn't have enough time to venture out. while we're on girlfriends, this was just the other week, not sure if I posted or not also the portrait looks washed out all of a sudden. hmm it's an odd angle for the portrait since I was looking down a ~30-35 degree slope and she had to look up at me a bit. 'Bell Mound', 1,200ft elevation from the base.

you guys aren't getting a photo of my girlfriend mainly because none exist that I took [editline]7th February 2012[/editline] I'm like "hey can I take a photo" and she like "I WILL RIP YOUR SKIN FROM YOUR FACE" so I'm all "okay fine I'll photograph this twig" oh yeah, the last threat was "I'll carve a pug dog wearing a Christmas outfit into your skin"
i don't have pics of my girlfriend because i don't have one
Some plane pictures. I love planes. A busy afternoon. [t]http://i.imgur.com/CbyYa.jpg[/t] Alitalia Airbus A330, flight to Beijing. [t]http://i.imgur.com/1HHlA.jpg[/t] Two random planes [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ep5D9.jpg[/t] AirFrance Boeing 777 from Beirut to Paris, if I remember correctly. [t]http://i.imgur.com/CGGAv.jpg[/t]
Ew timestamp. Also, how in the world do you know where the planes are going?
eyes like a goddamn hawk I guess
Ew timestamp. Also, how in the world do you know where the planes are going?
Yeah, I kinda forgot to turn off timestamps as I was taking those. As for the planes, I use Flight Radar 24. It shows you detailed info about where it is flying to, speed, height. Over time, I pretty much remembered all the bigger planes and now I just know by the looks which plane it is and where it is flying (since they fly at the same time, ex. that AirFrance usually flies over around 5 PM.)

Do you guys ever do that?
Photo of that guy spitting is fuckin' disgusting. Just thought I'd add that. and Mr Face thats a lovely photo. My town is flooded right now, and the place that is the nicest for taking photos is totally under.. and will smell awful for months afterwards. Stuck inside, can't go to work because the bridges are under and I'm stuck on the other side of town. Boring stuff.. D:
Blaze said I needed to get out more :( Photos are stupid I know but was just making a point. Ivan only really go out on Saturdays anyway.
Also, they're not actually making out in the photo.
Blaze said I needed to get out more :( Photos are stupid I know but was just making a point. Ivan only really go out on Saturdays anyway.
I didn't mean in a social sense, i meant for photography. And tasteful creative photography. The photo of that person spitting is disgusting and is something that i'd never even take a photo of, let alone post on facepunch. You didn't need to prove that you go out to us, i suggested for your 365 you actually leave your house and take some creative photos of things people actually would like to see.
Wickerman, all good. But yeah those pics are for facebook not facepunch, and even then i'd question their belonging on facebook. Some harsh criticism might put ya on the right track, though.
hey now, photos of disgusting things have a place in this world too, everything that can be captured should be captured for the sake of it; don't say "shouldn't take a photo of that" because who knows, it could just end up being one of your best photos, and in the subject matter, just because no one else wants to take a photo of it doesn't mean you shouldn't because that is what makes it unique. what's with all the hate on it anyway? it got a reaction out of you, and therefor works to some extent, more appropriate criticism would be on the composition, not the subject matter. edit: if you think spitting is so disgusting that you want to put someone down for trying to capture it then don't bother with photo journalism, there's much more disgusting things to be captured in war torn countries that should be shared so that people get an insight into the reality of war
Wow you guys can be dicks sometimes, I'm actually quite impressed at how well the moment was captured in that picture. This is the creative photography thread. I think I've never seen a picture of a guy spitting, or at least one with both the face and the spit that well captured. It is creative and a great photo, in my opinion.
hey now, photos of disgusting things have a place in this world too, everything that can be captured should be captured for the sake of it; don't say "shouldn't take a photo of that" because who knows, it could just end up being one of your best photos, and in the subject matter, just because no one else wants to take a photo of it doesn't mean you shouldn't because that is what makes it unique. what's with all the hate on it anyway? it got a reaction out of you, and therefor works to some extent, more appropriate criticism would be on the composition, not the subject matter. edit: if you think spitting is so disgusting that you want to put someone down for trying to capture it then don't bother with photo journalism, there's much more disgusting things to be captured in war torn countries that should be shared so that people get an insight into the reality of war
A photo is made up of all its components, one being the composition yes, but another being the subject matter. So it deserves equal criticism as the rest of the photo. We're not putting him down, we're giving him constructive advice to try and better his photography. And i for one am not looking to pursue a career in photo journalism, and regardless, i don't think someones friend spitting is exactly journalism material.
I think that these are the best photos I've taken the rest are in the set
They are amazing, hazey
Second to last is all skewed and shit, personal opinion but I really don't like that
They are amazing, hazey
thanks <3 [editline]7th February 2012[/editline]
Second to last is all skewed and shit, personal opinion but I really don't like that
she was lying on a hill, I was holding the camera perfectly straight on the x axis, just tilted down. I quite liked that aspect of it (and so have others I've spoken to about it)
I thought I had made my point clear that they were not creative and that they were purely just messing around. I have a lot of things going against me: the camera isn't insured so my dad won't let me take it to school, by the time I get home the sun is setting, and ive already taken a million sunset photos within 30 metres of my house, due to insomnia which I am trying to cure I have to stop anything productive at nine I clock and before then I'm busy with homework and studying. I only have a chance to go out on Saturday really, and as I said I have made plans I go out walking with a friend this Saturday. I apologise for the lack of range in my photos but it is something that annoys me to. Just to finalise it, I know those photos are silly, that is why I did not put them on Flickr. [editline]7th February 2012[/editline]
edit: if you think spitting is so disgusting that you want to put someone down for trying to capture it then don't bother with photo journalism, there's much more disgusting things to be captured in war torn countries that should be shared so that people get an insight into the reality of war
Photo journalism is horrible, I once saw a picture of a foot that once belonged to a suicide bomber, the blood still flowing from what was left of his ankle...
Photo journalism is horrible, I once saw a picture of a foot that once belonged to a suicide bomber, the blood still flowing from what was left of his ankle...
It just depends what type of photojournalism you view, it doesn't always have to be a war or body parts. Photojournalism is something that's probably going to never to go away.
-snip- wow bottom of the page again~
