Why I have a Gibson Explorer.
We know.
Why I have a Gibson Explorer.
At least someone does. On a forum full of 14-year-olds with rich parents, I figured everyone and their uncle would have a V or an Explorer. I can't brag or anything, though, I play an Aria Les Paul. I'm a huge fan of Explorers, I just don't have one yet.
I'll sell you mine. I don't even play it anymore.
Interested in the general opinion on this one. How do you think it looks? I am very tempted in buying one because I think it looks fantastic. I already have a good classical guitar so this would be just for fun. It's 7/8 sized too, which I like. But yeah, I'm a guy and I know this guitar was designed for girls (by looking at the box). Also, maybe it's hard to see in the picture, but it has sparkles. :h:
I'll sell you mine. I don't even play it anymore.
Pics please, I'd fucking buy it. Explorer is probably my favourite shape!
Pics please, I'd fucking buy it. Explorer is probably my favourite shape!
Vanilla white Probably Seymore Duncan pickups, if I remember correctly. Looked like it was in good shape.

Uh, I love the way electric guitar sounds, but I've never played one, so if I were to get started with one, what should I buy? Note: I have no knowledge of this stuff, but I think I'm supposed to get atleast the guitar and an amp (though isn't an amp just a giant speaker?)
Not enough u wasted 2k$ on an epic jackson, now a Gibson?
My thirst for guitars is unquenchable. I just need more money. I don't like the way an acoustic sounds lol. Edit: the jumpstart guitar package?

I love my guitar. Every Dave Mustaine model kicks ass. I really wouldn't want any other guitar right now, maybe change the pickups on mine but thats it, overall I love it. I would love to have an old school Gibson Explorer but other than that I hate Gibsons. Too overrated. Jackson and Dean are the way to go.
But i believe people should start with acoustics, no?
It doesn't really matter. [editline]03:35PM[/editline]
I don't like the way an acoustic sounds
Seriously??

I like the designs of their guitars, but there are companies out there that do a better job of making those designs, and for less money. I don't have that "But it's a GIBSON!!!111!" obsession, so IMO I can have a lot more enjoyment out of a 3rd party Explorer or Les Paul with a decent set of pickups and some little design improvements than an outrageously expensive and shitty Gibson.
is it true that guitarists finger girls better why the funnies i am asking a very serious mature question here

I gave guitar lessons once, they're cover for this season but I'm afraid he has hit his limit :( He doesn't have rhythm, and he's tone-deaf. All he can do is play his chords in a one-two-three-four manner, and he can't keep in time if I'm not playing with him. I'm pretty sure all he can learn is bar chords, but do you think it's worth another season?
People should do what I did. Play for 4 years through a shitty 15 watt practice amp, get good at playing instead of playing around with effects and shit.
I agree with this man. I kind of did that, only I only played for 3 and a half year before starting with effects and stuff. Really helps your technique. [editline]10:33PM[/editline]
I don't like the way an acoustic sounds lol.
Always start acoustic. They're way cheaper and you can learn to play well before you crank up the distortion and rock power chords.
Sure there are some good third-party alternatives but Gibsons are still very nice guitars..
I've heard a lot of horror stories about their quality, especially in the 90s. Plus, there's the infamous Les Paul headstock problem that they're too full of themselves to fix, and other various structural issues. Not speaking as a professional guitarist or anything, but it really seems to me that if enjoyment is all you care about, you can have just as much fun without shelling out all the money that comes with the Gibson name.
I agree with that last part but they're still very good guitars, I guess that was my point. The headstock thing is only a problem if you drop it which you can't expect them to cover really.
is it true that guitarists finger girls better
Absolutely.
Anyone like Rush? I was just learning Xanadu
