Right now i'm in the "playing guitar" phase soon I will transfer into the "still playing guitar" phase
Beats not being able to play.
True that
Right now i'm in the "playing guitar" phase soon I will transfer into the "still playing guitar" phase
How long have you played for?
Practically everyone I know plays bass, guitarists are outnumbered where I live and there is a drought of drummers
I can't really comment on where I live now, since I've only lived here for 2 weeks, but where I used to live, I didn't know any bass players, but it seemed like everyone played guitar. Also, I'm considering getting a Vox VT30. I watched some Youtube videos and read some reviews on it, and it seems like a giant step up from what I have now (Marshall MG10, Yeah I know). It seems like a new amp with a multitude of effects and whatnot what definitely make playing a bit more fun, and it should sound better. Either that, or I'll get a Bass Guitar. I already have a Bass amp.
How long have you played for?
2 years this december

Also when you get to the "Oh man I'm shit at guitar" phase, don't buy loads of stuff that you think will make you sound better, because lots of people buy endless pedals and other effects and stuff when they've only been playing for a year or so. I'd say stick to the guitar, amp and one or two pedals until you're pretty good.
-snip- The 4th time I've posted my guitar on facepunch.
Your guitar has a cock.
Your guitar has a cock.
Compensates the players lack of cock.
I think the Iceman is awesome.

Play for 4 years through a shitty 15 watt practice amp, get good at playing instead of playing around with effects and shit. Then treat themselves to a nice amp. Not having reverb for years teaches you to hold a note as long needed rather than stop short and let the reverb carry it on a tny bit longer. I'm at the point were i learn that i am tone deaf and can't tune my new guitar.
I'm at the point were i learn that i am tone deaf and can't tune my new guitar.
Do it by feel then. Strings resonate funny when they are out of tune.
Does anybody know an online store where I can find an ESP M-II w/ Duncan pickups for less than $1500? [editline]02:34PM[/editline]
Vox VT's are the shiznit. Tomorrow im going to buy a dunlop crybaby wah pedal. is it good, could you tell me your experiences with it? Thanks!
Tomorrow im going to buy a dunlop crybaby wah pedal. is it good, could you tell me your experiences with it? Thanks!
It's pretty nice, bro. I prefer Steve Vai's Morley because it automatically bypasses when you take your foot off, a lot less tiresome heel-to-toe. But if you're not planning on doing some really spastic wah solos then the Crybaby is great.
Sounds like something I thought would be eventually gratifying will throw me into a spiral of self pity and being depressed with my fail. :/ Practically everyone I know plays bass, guitarists are outnumbered where I live and there is a drought of drummers
Dude, you start of playing a few riffs, and think you are the dogs bollocks, then you hit a riff that takes weeks to get right, and to teach your finger that your the fucking master. Then you are at the shit yeah state of mind, till another harder riff or solo comes along, then you succeed there, it's not easy, but thats what makes it satisfying, the fact you are aiming high and slogging along until you get it right and conquer that bitch ass riff and break its legs!!!! [editline]07:52PM[/editline]
Tomorrow im going to buy a dunlop crybaby wah pedal. is it good, could you tell me your experiences with it? Thanks again
Does anybody have a guitar with a floyd rose, where the neck sits at the same height as the body, and the fretboard sits just on top of the body height? If so, could you take a picture of the floyd rose, I want to see how it's set into the body...
My mexican telecaster(don't give me shit about the lame flames/yingyang sticker I didn't put them on there): my starter guitar, a knock off strat from "hamer": My fender acoustic:
Lefties look strange.
I am currently looking at getting a new guitar and I'm gravitating towards an Ibanez RG, or similar 7 string guitar. Anyone have recommendations to check out? I'm hearing good things about coupling the RG1527 with EMG 707s, hopefully I'll find a place close to where I live that stocks them so I can have a play.
I'm considering getting some higher end classical guitar strings, any suggestions? Right now I just use the D'Arrio Pro Arte or whatever.
I'm considering getting some higher end classical guitar strings, any suggestions? Mind you I hadn't played it in ages :v:
Nice, what's your grade?
I finished Grade 8 AMEB then stopped playing pretty much. I busted it out the other day to play an acoustic version of Orion with my buddy at a school assembly (Rodrigo y Gabriela style)
Holy crap we're in the same grade. Except i'm moving on for grades 9 and 10. Best of luck to you.
Holy crap we're in the same grade. Except i'm moving on for grades 9 and 10. I hated classical while I learnt it, but it's the best thing I've done and I'm so glad I did. And I enjoy playing it every now and then now. What board handles exams and such where you live? (AMEB = Australian Music Examinations Board)
