• Advice on whey protein

Ok so no bullshiting. I'm overweight. 237 @ 5-9. Ive been going to the gym 5 days a week for about 3 weeks now and im doing good. Now my buddy who is sort of like my trainer that I work out with takes whey protein and says I should. However I have herd from others it would make me gain even more weight. My friend says that after a workout your body needs protein and its good for me. Our workout goes like this Monday: Biceps, Tries, back Tuesday: More biceps, legs, core Wensday - Thursday: little bit of arms and legs but mostly cardio Friday: Hybrid day. Should I be taking it or will it do more harm then good.
You still need protein even though you are fat. And the best way to get that protein (for you) would be through whey protein mixed with water. Low calories, yet high in protein.
