I'm also looking for a Siri proxy. Also, does anybody know why SiriRa1n was pulled (, I know)?

It's a bit steep for me.
My 3GS just ran out of battery, and upon rebooting all my Cydia app settings seem to have reset. All my hidden icons have reappeared, and my settings for SBSettings have defaulted, what's going on and is there a way to fix it without manually doing it all again? I have rebooted the device. And Cydia apps aren't even launching.
BackUp manager ultimate to the rescue :eng101:
Nvm it sorted itself after like 5 reboots. Cydia-related apps/tweaks seem to be very temperamental.

Stop teasing me.

I need some help. I've been on 3.1.3 ever since I got my Touch and a lot of the things I'd like to use are moving away from the older iOS's but I really don't want to go through the hassle of worrying about finding a reliable jailbreak and all that. But I need your opinion.. Should I upgrade to 4.2?
Untethered A5 Jailbreak (5.0.1) is out now guys, go and grab it: http://greenpois0n.com/?p=173 MAC OS X only atm, windows version coming soon.

It's better to have a smooth device without some of the features you want than a laggy one with everything, in my opinion.
It's times like these I love having both platforms.
Me and you both. I just wish the Absinthe servers load would decrease just a bit. I got my iPad 2 to install Cydia, but my 4S has yet to get through. [editline]20th January 2012[/editline] Also, I noticed Kindle Books show up on my iPad during the jailbreak process, and act like it was downloading but it never did. A little odd considering I've never downloaded that app.
windows version come oon :D

Those of you jailbreaking an iPhone 4S, MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE YOUR PASSCODE. If you have a passcode set, the phone cannot contact greenposi0n.com during the payload process I'm pretty sure, and they VPN reboot fix will not work and Cydia will not install, no matter how much you try. So: Disable the passcode before you jailbreak. If you've tried already like I did, restart Absinthe and click Jailbreak, it'll do a small recovery process on the application. Unplug and replug your phone. Run Absinthe again after disabling the passcode. That should fix it. If the Absinthe app still doesn't work, the VPN trick will work.

Awaiting Windows version
Ever since I upgraded to 5.0.1 and jailbroke it my device has been very sluggish; unlocking takes a few seconds, ipod controls will be unresponsive and memory is eaten up very quickly. Anyone else experienced this?
Also anyone who has a jailbroken iPhone, get FakeClockUp All it does is speeding all default iPhone animations up but for some reason it seems everything is responding a lot faster :v:
I swear i will throw my HTC against the wall once they release a jailbreak for the iPad 2 with iOS 5.
It is time to come true on this promise, my friend.
CLI tools for jailbreaking on Windows are out now. Download them from here or use the link in the bottom of the latest post on http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ if you don't trust my link above (although they're exactly the same link). It says "The OS X version of the CLI" but Windows is also supported. It's the same file for both. Anyway, download and unpack wherever you deem appropriate and navigate to that folder in a command prompt. 1. Once you're there make sure your device is unlocked (you can see the icons on your home screen) and then run "cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig" 2. A message about installing jailbreak will appear on the screen of your iphone or ipad. Just click install in the upper right corner. If it asks you for a password just leave the box empty and click on next or done in the upper right corner. 3. Then you run "cinject.exe -j payloads" from the command prompt and let it do it's work. 4. Eventually it'll tell you to run "cinject.exe -w" and enable the VPN option that's now appeared in the main settings menu. If it gives you some error about not being able to connect, don't worry about it, just wait a bit and eventually the device will restart. If you typed out the "cinject.exe -w" command somewhere in the syslog that it dumps out you should spot the words ”pod2g is in da house!” After the restart is finished you should be jailbroken and find Cydia somewhere on your homescreen. I kept getting this error saying "FATAL(__LINE__): Assertion failed (1266): got == sizeof(size) 1266" after step 3. I did a restore using the settings on my ipad (General > Reset > Reset All Settings) and then started over. This in itself wasn't enough though, I had to run the command from step 1 twice before it would accept the command from step 3 so maybe reset wasn't actually necessary. Anyway, keep at it and it'll probably work.
I cant update my iPod to 5.0.1, everytime i plug it in, iTunes stops responding.
I cant update my iPod to 5.0.1, everytime i plug it in, iTunes stops responding.
Yeah that happens. Just keep unplugging and replugging in and it will eventually work.
Should I jailbreak my iPhone 4? I'm not entirely sure if it's still a safe thing to do, as I had software issues before due to jailbreaking a while ago. The only benefits I really see aren't that major now with iOS5
Depends, if there's nothing to gain then there's no point.
Okay, managed to update to 5.0.1.
