16:10 is best aspect.
5:4 > 16:10 I have a 1280x1024 LCD from a thrift store and a 1440x900 LCD new from Wal-Mart...I would give up the 1440x900 first. [editline]e[/editline] Should add some reasoning... Newer games and movies would be fine in widescreen, but many older games (2003 or before) will force a 4:3 ratio in fullscreen. While not the same as 5:4 ratio, forcing 4:3 on a 5:4 is a lot more tolerable than a 4:3 on widescreen. Also, I have a pet peeve with Hammer and 3DS Max viewports being rectangular, because you get more space in them as squares.
Once of the worst experiences I've had with an end user was during my time at a local computer store. This old lady brings her computer in, except it's stuffed inside 2 trash bags. I should have asked her why before I started to open it. But instead I asked right as I had the second bag open. Then she says "Yeah my cat peed in it." Right as that lovely cat piss smell hits me in the face. Turns out (for whatever reason) the side panel was off...and her cat sprayed inside of the machine. I just closed the bags up and told her to get it out of the store. We ended up giving her an equivalent machine, since that one was so old anyway.

I remember there was a anime I watched that was called Battle Programmer Shirase and it just starts out with some mainframe in a company blowing up in a giant fireball. the only other thing I remember is he was in love with his niece or something. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] I was really bored that day.
Am I an illiterate for not being able to set MPC-HC to use ffdshow? It just doesn't show up in the External filters list, and when I try to manually add it, then it doesn't do anything.
that's easy, in fact I've been doing this for ages, buckwheat.
I'm spoofing IE5. And yeah, I saw yours.
Amazon review on Portal 2:
Why the heck does Portal on the 360 run at sub HD, low res textures, jaggies everywhere and choppy framerate? I thought valve were PC developers? Returning this garbage and getting the PS3 version.

Well, at least he is getting Steamworks.

Just make sure "ffdshow Video Decoder" is what is in the external filter list. All the others aren't important.
-problem solved-
It's not in there. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline]
You sure you installed ffdshow then?
I'm happy with my 16:9 thank you very much. I'll leave it at that.
isnt 16:10 the golden ratio or something
Importing video frames in Photoshop requires: 1) That you're using the 32-bit edition. 2) You have to have Quicktime installed. Fucking seriously? I'm giving up on turning this fucking clip into a gif.
isnt 16:10 the golden ratio or something
Doesn't mean I'm disappointed with my 16:9 monitor. 1920x1080 is just fine.
isnt 16:10 the golden ratio or something
1618:1000 is generally seen as the most pleasing to the eye. I don't know why monitor manufacturers and movie people haven't tried it out.
Oh god that text is horrible to look at
I agree. Blame BBC's site.
I just walked by some IT guys setting up the new Microsoft surface at my school hopefully I can test it out tomorrow if the IT guys aren't still messing with it.
I agree. Blame BBC's site.
Reading something probably about the same thing on CNN
At the time, one of the more controversial aspects of Apple's reaction was that there was none -- Apple had instructed its AppleCare and retail staff not to even acknowledge Mac Defender's existence, and not to remove it from users' infected computers.
Apple, please die in hell
Around 7 hours ago when I was using my computer it decided to freeze, couldn't do ctrl-alt-del or move the cursor. I restarted and it froze when loading Windows. Got Ubuntu on an USB Flash Memory Stick and when checking the drives, I found this: Is my SSD fucked?
I tried re-formatting the drive through Ubuntu, it gave me a "unable to create filesystem error", and I can't check if it works to reformat through the Windows 7 CD because my DVD drive apparently isn't working either. Maybe my SATA ports are starting to mess up, I have a H67 from January which has that SATA port error. What should I do?

Do you have another PC that you know the SATA ports are working on?
