Ok so which Mac is faster for video editing, or in general? iMac with Intel Core i5 at 2.5GHz with 4GB DDR3 RAM at 1333 MHz and AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB MacBook Pro with Intel Core i7 at 2.3GHz with 4GB DDR3 RAM at 1600MHz and Intel HD Graphics 4000 384MB
Well, if you can get an iMac and you're gonna be editing movies, I'd definitely get that. Much more workspace. And the iMac is still the faster of the two - higher TDP processor and all.
I'm looking at a laptop for Uni next year, what's something that isn't: A: An alienware brick B: A celeron shitbox C: A balls out expensive ultrabook
Budget please?
Man it's cray how you can list shit on the steam marketplace and then BAM sold. Trading cards are stupid as shit, but damn if I'm not going to be making a buck off of nerds and their stupid collectibles.
Dunno, i kinda like it. I got like 1 euro from selling the stuff i got when it got launched, and i just keep using that to buy and sell stuff on it Not like i can buy anything with it anyway, i just think it's fun to trade stuff

Because all I do is sell 'em and now I got three bucks on the dollar which can go to infinitely more entertaining things like, y'know, games [editline]25th October 2013[/editline] Shiet, I can buy that new Deus Ex edition for $2 out of my pocket

Probably could put it towards some DLC or something at some point though
Budget please?
I don't exactly have a set budget, just nothing ludicrously expensive like Macbooks I'm not making any decisions yet, just taking suggestions to see what people recommend
Ye, i wanted a Claptrap on my profile and a FTL background. Probably could put it towards some DLC or something at some point though
Sure, that's fair, I got a background from euro truck sim, but only because trucks are cool and I never spent any out of pocket money. You gotta realize the money that goes into the market came from someone's wallet somewhere, and a lot of people pay out the nose for stupid stuff
Surface! [t]http://i.imgur.com/huq93d8.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/qg3Vfw1.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/d3Bqlj5.jpg[/t] Very powerful tablet. Screen is super low latency too.
Found this torrent client today, was mentioned on HN in someone's comment. http://baretorrent.org It's essentially uTorrent before it got bloated. Really nice, super fast and very lightweight (30mb ram downloading a Linux ISO). Worth taking a look at. Supports Windows, Ubuntu/Debian and OSX.
So, a dutch bank attached the wrong file to an email (i had to sign something) and now i have the full financial records of some guy who owns an 1.35m euro and an 325k euro building along with all his personal info and credit ratings etc 10/10 gg would bank with this bank again. I called them and said they sent the wrong file, poor woman panicked and asked me to delete
Should have asked them how much it's worth to them :v: [sp]just kidding, black mail is bad mmkay[/sp]
Free Mafia 2 or Civ V https://goldenjoysticks.greenmangaming.com/
i wouldn't jump too hard on this the guys actually hosting the voting site dropped the ball really fucking hard
I don't exactly have a set budget, just nothing ludicrously expensive like Macbooks I'm not making any decisions yet, just taking suggestions to see what people recommend
Personally my decision between a portable, yet mildly powerful laptop last month came down to the Clevo W230ST ($1100, i7, GTX765M), Lenovo Y510p SLI ($1000), Acer V7 ($800-1200, dual-core i5/i7, GT750M, touchscreen) and Clevo P151SM1 ($1200, i7, GTX770M). I ended up getting the W230ST and it has more power than I would ever need out of a laptop and a ~3.5 hour battery life while being fairly small (though a bit heavy for its size at 4lbs). Overall, I like it.
My brain is about to explode. Since my old college laptop didn't come with 8, neither did media for an upgrade for it came with it too. I'm struggling to find a fucking Windows 8 Pro ISO.
Free Mafia 2 or Civ V https://goldenjoysticks.greenmangaming.com/
Wasn't that from last month and didn't they run out of keys
It's what is "provided", also the MacBook Pro has a Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 512MB Both have 500GB HHD but I'm guessing the one on the MacBook Pro is slower.
i edit with avid mc on that exact macbook pro, just edit off USB 3 HDDs, trust me. you'll want externals anyway, the internal HD is not important. make sure you get a matte screen xo
Wasn't that from last month and didn't they run out of keys
well i have both now, so nope. they have keys and it works.
Wasn't that from last month and didn't they run out of keys
I dunno, I didn't even vote on the stupid awards and I still just got Mafia II
I dunno, I didn't even vote on the stupid awards and I still just got Mafia II
Heh strange, seems like there's keys again because I got a second one aswell
Hah man by some freak accident I got up to exactly $4.00 in card sales after being at exactly $3.00 above
Just upgraded to 8.1 and it asked me for my Microsoft Account password. Too bad I use Lastpass. Rebooted computer to try and boot into my Linux install to retrieve it, boot loader just went straight back to Windows and then reverted back to Windows 8.0. Clean install it is then.
Was randomly browsing gumtree (bad idea, I always end up worse off) and saw this really weird thing. Just had to buy it. It's a P4 which rather sucks, but for £30 the novelty value (and potential mod target) it's really quite nice. I thought that was a vintage DVD player at first [editline]25th October 2013[/editline] What's the model and make of that thing?
Has anyone made a mouse that is wireless and wired? Like when it's plugged in the mouse is wired and charging so when you unplug the mouse it's charged and working wirelessly.
Bought Lenovo IdeaPad u410 a while ago. Despite everyone going "Thinkpad or nothing" and going on about how lenovo's "consumer" line is not as good. I'm actually quite impressed with the build of it, Metal lid and base, no creaky plasticness. It has been used for work 3 days a week since I got it, college 2 days a week and I use it when I do live sound for the remaining 2 days... so it gets knocked around loads and I've not had an issue with it... The battery life sold it for me though, I'm getting 6-8 hours on power saver mode. Would get another, I haven't missed the optical drive. They have a wireless keyboard receiver built in if you can find one.
Wow, I worked on one of those earlier in the year. [editline]25th October 2013[/editline] It's LGA775 so I might pop an old Pentium D or C2D in it and see what happens.

Is that some old HTPC or something? [editline]25th October 2013[/editline] Have an old picture of a laptop I found.
