I know a kid that wants to learn programming so he can make games. I tried convincing him that you can't remake CoD:MW2 with basic programming skills but he told me he's starting a C+ course.
I just told my brother about this. His response? "It's called c++ you idiot. c+ doesn't exist. :downs:
That's because it doesn't. There's C, C++, C#, and for some reason I have a nagging feeling I'm forgetting another one.
That's part of his idiocy. He also told me he's going to buy two keyboards and use both at the same time.
You can do that. Is there any advantage over one keyboard? No. You still only have 2 hands.
The obvious question is if he ever mentioned remaking mw2 or if he's genuinely interested in programming.
He's 11 and told me that he was gonna remake Minecraft with an "engine he found" He found gamemaker. :effort:

There we go. Thanks hex.
Source Engine :downs:
Source Engine wouldn't be able to make a Minecraft clone. Too many entities.
To GMod Guy, didn't they get like a tracking number or something? Dell gave me one when I ordered my laptop last year.
I do not know, just heard it from one of the guys that ordered one.
Eh, I wanted to make a top down shooter game but I decided against it when I realised what I was getting myself into.
I thought NAND chips were just non-volatile Flash Memory.
That's what I said?

Shut up.
I have several friends that are convinced graphics and screen resolution are the same thing.
Hey guys, don't know if I'm making myself content here but is there a tool like Speccy I could run on Windows XP that doesn't require admin? Want to see what school uses, the computers in business management are pretty damn decent and we (are supposed to) waste time learning how to type but in the computer lab where they expect you to get shit done it takes five-ish minutes to get logged in and another minute to start up IE6. If I were a school principle I would get not-shitty PCs and use not-shitty software. I can't imagine a school like that :saddowns:
My dad finally admitted that he is an asshole! I now have $70.00 and a free, overprice mouse.
Ah that's good, I was just about to ask if I could introduce your father to my clenched fist.
The C+/C++ confusion on this thread reminded me of this argument on YouTube from way back in January I had with this dumb faggot on a video about cleaning your computer or something I happened to come across. I was arguing with this guy in the comments about the "right way to clean your computer," and how CCleaner (featured in the video) isn't one. The comments are removed, but I remember the argument enough to recreate his stupidity: Significant posts from the idiot:
You have to reinstall Windows and I said C+ which is right!

Your still wrong the only right way to fix your computer is to reinstall. C+ is 16bit and C++ is 32bit! All of the programs in this video are fake! Go away!
I was about to reply but he had removed all of his comments.
As long as you dont mind your students working in sweatshops 4/5 days of the week to pay for these computers, im sure it will work
My school has fucking gaming computers that they only use for technical drawing. I'm sure some schools can pay for them.
Yeah, Music Tech in the 6thform I recently finished at had beasty machines just for music recording/composition. Which could need a decent-ish CPU, HDD, RAM and a professional soundcard, but these were top-of-the-line spec, and for unknown reason had Geforce 9800GT's in all of them... :\ Bearing in mind these were for music students ONLY, and music != graphics... Basically, when it comes to IT, schools shit money.
if you got a big budget for IT then you can't spend it elsewhere
