Define XL for $99.99 on newegg. I don't even have a computer yet, but is it a good enough deal to justify getting it now? Answer soon please, deals like this don't last forever.
In my opinion they are good, but there are cases with better air flow.
Powerful laptops are heavy and have shitty battery life. Also, even the most powerful laptop will get old fast. I suggest you get a desktop and some cheap laptop.
Already have a desktop, and I need a laptop because it will then be more private.
Oh, okay. What's your price range, and what do you need more: power or portability? You can get one of those Alienware laptops, but they kind of go against the entire point of a laptop.
What's the best program for recovering deleted files?
Recycle Bin
Piriform's Recuva works well. Be aware that deleted files are written over in no time. I remember I deleted a folder while messing around with a command line tool once and within 10 minutes a lot of the files were partially written over.

Will the IdeaPad Z575 laptops drop the prices a bit after the ivy bridge ones come out? I've been thinking about getting this one if the price drops a bit, if it's any better than the amd one. Actually which of those two are better anyway? I'm pretty sure the intel one is a bit better, but then again it's $150 more. Also, if anyone owns the intel one, does it look as purple as it looks in the pictures? I mean seriously, look at this girly thing. Also fuck AMD until they release a new generation of CPUs that aren't terrible
I want to buy a portable hard drive and a mic (possibly as a headset). I know newegg is usually where people go to buy hardware in the US - what's the equivalent for the UK?

Does an independent sound card really make a difference in your music?
Does an independent sound card really make a difference in your music?
not for a casual listener. Dint bother unless you're employed in music production or have the speakers to back it up (you don't unless you've got studio monitors)
Does an independent sound card really make a difference in your music?
only slightly, but it does take the sound processing load off of your cpu so it helps performance a tiny bit.
Does an independent sound card really make a difference in your music?
Depends on the quality of the previous dac and the quality of the sound card's dac.
Does an independent sound card really make a difference in your music?
Only the really expensive ones. And only if you have some SERIOUSLY badass equipment to go with it.
I have this really wierd problem with my gtx 570, when I overclock it just a single mhz it drops the fps in BF3 to like 5. As soon as I reset the clocks the lag stops. Using 296.10 drivers. nvm fixed it

I hate those cards remember? :(
I have a 480w power supply.
Is it an IED waiting to happen? If not, 6870!
I don't think it's an IED. I'd post what kind I have but I'm away and I can't remember what kind it is at the moment.
Does anyone know of a way to get an Enhanced IDE Hardrive working on USB as a sort-of Removable HDD?
I don't think it's an IED. I'd post what kind I have but I'm away and I can't remember what kind it is at the moment.
It should be ok, even if it is a shitbrand, 6870s don't use more than 150w load and I doubt the rest of your computer uses more than 150-200w.

I need to reinstall Windows on my laptop, problem is I can't find the CD anymore. The key says I got the "Windows 7 Home Premium OA Acer Group", can I just get a normal CD from somebody else and reinstall it with my key?
