What? Microsoft has a mobile phone platform?
What? Microsoft has a mobile phone platform?
I can tell you're not very up to date
Where the hell have you been? Windows Mobile/Pocket PC has been in existence since 2000. They just didn't appeal to the casual user until WP7.
I always wonder why companies have region locking, and other things like that.
Most services require licensing and most companies are protecting themselves from liability.
I work at a local electronics store, and today we got some lumia 800s in fired one up, holy shit that thing is so smooth and quick even though it only has a single core cpu, it's just as smooth as the more expensive iphones and android phones. dayumn good optimizing, windows

But yes, Darn good optimization.
Posting from lumia 800 now, just bought it:D
Posting from lumia 800 now, just bought it:D
Welcome to the club.
there has been some leaks regarding the tango update. link: http://www.coolsmartphone.com/2012/02/16/windows-phone-7-tango-shots-the-devil-is-in-the-detail/ original (translated from russian): http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwp7forum.ru%2Futechka-chto-novenkogo-v-windows-phone-7-tango%2F&act=url apparently, you'll be able to import/export contacts to/from the SIM and some other new stuff. seriously can't wait as i really wanna start typing in my native language, which hopefully will be supported finally.
But you can already import contacts from your SIM card. It's been really handy for the times when my phone had to do a factory reset.
But you can already import contacts from your SIM card. Not do anything else with them currently. So being able to load them in on it will be nice. Though I hope it will remember linking and group options as well.
Of course, me being on Verizon... doesn't really help. I have my contacts tied to my Windows Live account. The only reason my phone has a SIM is for international use at no extra charge
how do i take screencaps with the lumia 800? is it even possible?
I haven't found a way to take screenshots on my Trophy, so I don't think one exists.
how do i take screencaps with the lumia 800? is it even possible?
Not possible on WP7 unfortunately.
you need a dev unlocked device. There's an app for it I think then.
FUCK I just bent the flap that hides the USB connection on my Lumia 800! I seem to remember in the reviews someone mentioned that Nokia would stock replacement ones, I wonder how hard it would be to change it
My phone was in my pocket, with about 60% battery remaining. Just put it there after listening to music, which I had stopped. Pull my phone out an hour later, it's REALLY warm, and is at 3% battery. What the fuck?
Obviously you had an app that was still running in the background, not sure if WP7 has a battery monitor like Android
It kinda does. Mango gave a "battery life" section in the Settings.
It's now charging, staying on for a few, then rebooting. I don't think this is an app. Fuck HTC. Edit: Seems to be good now, but IDK, I've been wanting to replace my phone for awhile. The Trophy's very low quality and Verizon doesn't have any other good Windows phones so I'll probably be making a switch soon.

I have absolutely no issues with it.
I think my HTC Mozart 7 has crapped itself for the last time today, but at least it gives me the excuse to buy the Nokia Lumia 900.
Seems like some companies skimped on the quality of the first generation phones.
Seems like some companies skimped on the quality of the first generation phones.
Besides that nasty update bug, the focus and the Omnia are pretty good 1st Gen phones. Haven't had any trouble whatsoever with my Omnia and the battery lasts A LOT. can go almost two full days without charging. And ofc, the screen is boss.

Okay I'm utterly stumped at this. But is there a way to get more picture folders (albums) I have camera roll, saved pictures, 7 (stock pictures), other pictures and some skydrive, mobile uploads and profile pictures albums. But can't find a way to make my own and actually move stuff to them.

Ah found out why that didn't work before. I was synching a picture seperately as opposed to the whole folder. Also goddamn Zune is a bloody mess. Was trying to change the avatar inside of the software. No luck anywhere. So go to the online site. No option anywhere again. Change locale to UK-English. Suddenly can open sociel.zune.net. And suddenly can change avatar. buuuuuuut any avatar upload files with an error please try again later. (the pre-existing ones work though) I'd say Zune is the biggest letdown for WP7 I've had till now. EDIT Woot changing to Germany seems to have worked. Maybe it thinks it's close enough so it's plausible or something :P But seriously the thing is a feature mess. It keeps giving me stuff like Buy music on zune, without it actually working. Puts forward a profile without an actual option to edit it and a bunch of other stuff. It should either have the common options regions free or not give me even a whif of those features.
