• Core-unlocking fails to boot windows, runs Mint like a charm.

Hello. Recently I unlocked my phenom 550 BE to a triple core. Windows fails to boot, Mint shows and uses all 3 cores. Is there anything I can do, or is windows just a resource hog?
Maybe a driver issue? Try running a clean Windows install
It's unstable. Try upping the voltage. If you can't boot into windows, it's currently an unstable OC/core unlocked [editline]22nd January 2011[/editline] I', assuming Linux handles an unstable CPU better somehow.

Chances are Windows uses a faulty instruction that Linux doesn't somehow. Lock the core if it's a problem in Windows you can bet your ass it'll be a problem in some other software as well.
