I just built my new pc, and when I start it up I get a error saying Disk Read Failure, Please insert System Disk.. So I insert a Windows xp cd, and it still says the same thing, I know the Optical drive is working because of the sound it makes when it reads the disk. Thanks.

Check the cables going to the harddrive.

Make sure the cables are in all the way.

Ohhhh! He fell for it! LULZ! Yeah... CD only, bub. here is a pioneer CD/DVD drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129043 You could also salvage from an old machine, if your last one had it.
dammit that CD drive is causing confusion everywhere
Fuck.. Time to salvage I guess.
I knew it. :smug:
umm
So I insert a Windows xp cd
just sayin...
umm just sayin...
Most people say CD for any type of media on a disk.
Since when does XP come on DVD?
Since when does XP come on DVD?
It doesn't.
It doesn't.
Exactly. His drive can't read DVDs but that's obviously not the problem since he's not trying to read a DVD.
