i read it and then countered with what i think is a more sensible way of getting what he wants
Check out the Sony L Series. Has all the specs you want. Its not out yet though, but the price seems to be reasonable.

I've been looking at models with Core 2 Quads, GTX 240Ms, 8GB RAM, Blu ray.[/QUOTE]
yes it it a Q9000 At 2.00 correct? that is a LAPTOP quad, and the M on the gpu means MOBILE

see quad core in a laptop, they use laptop parts because of the low voltage/power requirements
hell I mean you can get a G51, and install a touch screen it requires a little work but there are guides

2.3.
Still drastically better than what's in netbooks.
G71V has a Q9400
The same parts won't run better if they are in a different case, that is just silly
Never suggested that, all I'm saying is I have an EEE 1000H as my laptop and I wanted an as aforementioned PC.

Narrowed it down to the HP Touchsmart 600 or the Sony Vaio L.
Waiting for prices before I finally decide.
My experiences with both HP and Sony VAIO have been bad :/
My HP laptop ran very hot, and sony vaio was just shit specs for £1000.
Looks like an imac. It's probably to attract 'arty types'.
Get a tablet pc, more portable
Using a touch screen will become extremely frustrating since after a few minutes of usage, you'll easily be faster than the PC.
Read the fucking thread guys. I get excited every time I see new posts here, stupidly thinking that someone might actually have some good advice.

The all-in-one pc concept is understandable, but the touchscreen part is a expensive gimmick, that'll most likely be ignored after 3 days of use.

touchscreen means it integrates a mouse and keyboard into it as well
[editline]12:22AM[/editline]
so it's even more all-in-one

All-in-one and touchscreens seem to go hand in hand.
Find a pc that fits my needs from the OP.

That explains it, though I'll leave that to other persons, since I'm mostly experienced in high performance builds.
