Galaxy Tab 10.1 owners, will this root guide work on my device? Mine's updated up to 3.1
When using gameboid, or any gameboy emulator, It automatically uses texture filtering (blurring it to make it look "better") How to disable?
retoast
The anniversary edition of Grand Theft Auto III is quite simply magnificent. It truly is a mark of how far technology has advanced in the last ten years. And in true Android fashion, GTA III can be customised with just a tiny little bit of work. It turns out that modifying the Android version of the game is in fact as simple as modifying the PC version. By adding files to the directory on the SD card. As an added bonus, it turns out the PC and Android versions of the game are so similar, that many PC modifications actually work on the Android version so you can soup up your cars and add custom textures to your heart's content. Hit the source link for more information if you fancy a go, and check out one happy modifiers video after the break.
I only get 250mb a month though so no youtube videos for me, think I can get 750mb more for £6 though.
No mobile data for me :suicide: [editline]30th December 2011[/editline]
exactly after 15 days of having my second S2 (I could return the phone within 14 days without questions asked or any problems etc), I noticed the home button looked like it was falling apart. I was SO mad until I noticed that it was the protective foil. :v:
That happened to me with my mini Pro back in September, I thought the camera glass was falling off, I found out that it was the protective film. Wow, that was a super fail durpy moment... :v:
I don't. Does anyone else do this? >GET SUPER EXPENSIVE PRODUCT >TREAT LIKE GOLD FOR FIRST DAY >days later >treat like shit
I treat mine like shit. Then again, it's encased in a Ottherbox. I'm generally horrible at taking proper care of things so it needs to be durable. 3GB on T(hird Reich)-Mobile, at £10 a month. A one-off charge of £35 for the world's worse phone. and 100mins/texts (+ a booster). Trouble is, they changed their terms to just 500MB, so I'm not sure what to do when my contract is up. I want to know if I can renew it, get a reduced monthly payment instead of a new phone (you can do this and I am getting a new phone) and still keep the 3GB cap, as changing it would count as a breach of contract? If I can't I'll just use giffgaff, but I'd like to keep my contract, as it would be cheaper and more convenient (having an actual contract instead of topping up and then stacking goodie bags).
So I've got XWKK5 with Siyah kernel 2.6.2 (Thanks PyroCF!*), ICS transition animations and rotation from Galaxy Note, I'm starting to love Android modding :v: * PyroCF: is there anything I should do after flashing the kernel? Any recommended edits to the CPU frequency and stuff like that? I just flashed the kernel and didn't touch anything.

I also want the true CRT ON/OFF animations, but it seems that on samsung ROMs it flips the image upside down :/ mankind_me: 1.6GHz.. battery dead within 3 hours? :v: I'll go read about underclocking though, thanks.
I love my grandfathered in unlimited plan. I used 2GB in one night when I reformatted my computer and couldn't get internet access to work.
just got my new SD card put in, phone sees it fine and it's got great speeds for a class 6 (11MB/s write and 20.7 read, from 2.9 and 8.9 on my class 2) but now when i plug it into my PC i don't have the option to transfer files. [editline]29th December 2011[/editline] If it still works i'd just say deal with it if the refurbs are sketchy
found this 32GB microSDHC card for 39.99 at best buy.
whats this kernel you talk about
Siyah Kernel, works with Samsung and AOSP ROMs
Is there any other phone I should consider other than the S2 and galaxy note? Nexus I sort of ruled out due to not expandable memory and the note looks more pleasing to me, just wondered if there's any other phones I should atleast look at. I get paid tonight so will order before I go to bed.
The note, because you have the best excuse to use it. Anywhere. At school, some Institute? Excuse would be that your taking notes while your actually watching a movie on that gigantic 5.3 inch screen.
Siyah Kernel, works with Samsung and AOSP ROMs
whats a AOSP rom? i feel like i should know this
whats a AOSP rom? i feel like i should know this
MIUI and CM7 ROMs made from the AOSP source code, and not made by customising/tweaking an official ROM for that phone model
whats a AOSP rom? i feel like i should know this
AOSP = Android Open Source Project. Basically they're ROMs built using the 'official' android source as a base, rather than Samsung/Moto/HTC/etc's proprietary bullshit. They generally tend to be faster and less memory hogs (/anecdotal evidence). [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] Ninja'd.
whats a AOSP rom? i feel like i should know this
Have this info bomb: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1103713?p=33952998&viewfull=1#post33952998 also, information about what's odexed/deodexed (there's two more things like that which I can't remember the names of right now) would be useful for the OP too.
Don't bother with OCing but do grab setCPU and change the governor to smartassv2
What exactly does it do? Improve battery life by changing clock speeds?
Odex - Optimised Library file for APK's. Usually used on System apps to boot a ROM faster. When a ROM is Deodexed these files are put inside the APK which allows for easier modding at the cost of speed. zipalign - A tool in the Android SDK that optimizes the packaging of APKs. This makes the system run faster, more efficiently and use less RAM. Those two?
YES. zipalign, that was the thing. FlamingSpaz, you are a walking android wikipedia.
