• Reuse old hard drive in new build?

I'm going to buy a completely new build and I plan on using the hard drive I'm currently using on this computer. I want to use this hard drive because I have everything on it: my photos, projects, work, OS, drivers, etc. and I don't have enough money to buy an external hard drive to back it all up in. Can I simply just plug this hard drive in my new rig and I'm ready to go? Or do I have perform some other procedures? Do I still have to install any drivers?
I wouldn't recommend it as the drivers installed on that OS are specific to your previous build. You could, partition your hard drive, back all your stuff up on the other partition, install your OS fresh on the newly made partition. I recommend springing for a new internal hard drive though, installing your OS on that, and using your old drive as a backup in case something goes wrong.

I'll see if I can use that. Thanks for the help.
