Putting a download limit of under a kilobyte on the windows service host basically kills any attempt to download anything update related. Not sure how I survived without Netlimiter, being able to throttle things without having to go through a seperate interface in each program if they even have one is so nice with such shit internet infrastructure.
Feedback hub is pretty good Haven't updated yet though [t]https://jii.moe/N1-C6qHl-.png[/t] [editline]24th April 2016[/editline] Like really goood [t]https://jii.moe/VJ7HCcBeZ.png[/t]
Why can't I select a default app from my system? It only shows the store... I clicked an email notification and despite Thunderbird being my default app (as listed by Windows itself), it opened the mail app. [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17216535/ShareX/2016/04/2016-04-24_13-47-51.mp4[/vid] Also it just ignores me when I set Chrome as a default browser.

I'm getting closer to upgrading to Windows 10 with all these small improvements:
Too bad the audio subsystem is still a load of shit and will break apps when switching output devices...
I've never had any issues with it except some games not switching the output device while running.
Did they remove the mixer in one of the preview builds because it's still there in TH2.
No, but between it being a bitch to get to and it using the abomination that is flat volumes, it's just infinitely better to grab Ear Trumpet.
I've never had any issues with it except some games not switching the output device while running.
I've had Chrome completely forget what settings to push audio through.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT sounds like it's fucked
No it's just because he's trying to set the microsoft specific mail protocol. It will show up under MAILTO and the mail application setting.
No it's just because he's trying to set the microsoft specific mail protocol. It will show up under MAILTO and the mail application setting.
Yeah it's there under MAILTO but still weird that I can't do it like I try in the screen recording.
No, it's just that the one on windows is a pos
It's so fucking tedious [vid]https://jii.moe/EkUmuR8lW.webm[/vid] What you kids might not understand is that there's quite a lot of room for improvement on how individual programs have their audio scaled in relation to each other Accidently nudge a program up a click, now good luck aligning them again In a silent room, 20% is all I need for comfortable listening that doesn't blow my brains out Although I do like when a program has access to it's volume levels, it is handled relatively nicely and translates over well
Why the fuck is the whole modern app bullshit so flaky. This is the third time they all just stopped working because I changed a drive setting in the fucking settings app. I just changed the offline maps folder to the D drive instead of the SSD and now every single modern app opens for a second then fucks right off. Changing it back to C drive doesn't even make them work again. At least this time it didn't stop half the OS from working like when I dared to change the default program files drive, only way to fix that was to wipe the OS drive AND the fucking users drive (corrupted user profiles and hidden files you aren't allowed to access yay!). Copying 2 TiB of data to a NAS over a < 100 mbit LAN connection is not fun. Can't wait for some miscellaneous update to make Windows realise I modified calc.exe and put the broken one back again. Also why the fuck does the onscreen keyboard force the input language to change every time you change focused input box until you restart the program you used it on. Fuck off Windows, if I want to type in Japanese I'll press the fucking hotkey. The Win 7 volume mixer does have issues but if you want them all at the same just move the master volume to 0, release, and move back to what you had. Can't say I've ever needed anything more though to be honest. The Win 7 calculator is more ugly than I remembered.
I've never had any issues with it except some games not switching the output device while running.
If I switch between frontpanel headphones or my back panel stereo speakers it will stop playing audio from either source until I restart the application. Although I bet there are system calls an application can make to better handle this, so it could be software related.

[editline]25th April 2016[/editline] oh god, that video's artifacty as fuck, sorry about that
Too bad the audio subsystem is still a load of shit and will break apps when switching output devices...
That's an application specific problem (which I believe comes from using legacy calls). Loads of programs will switch correctly.

[editline]26th April 2016[/editline] Ah brilliant, it appears to somehow have also broken cross drive symbolic folder links, single files work though. How do you fuck up so bad that changing the offline maps directory stops symbolic links from working? Guess I have to deal with a minute of my hard drive raping itself every morning instead of loading configs from memory.
Are you absolutely certain that one or more of your drives aren't just dying?
It's a RAMdisk so yes. I can access the files on the RAMdisk directly but trying to access them via a symbolic link in the appdata folder (or anywhere else) doesn't work. Notepad++ says the file doesn't exist, Notepad says "You can't move the file to a different disk drive" trying to open a folder inside the link also says "You can't move the file to a different disk drive." Security panel says "The requested security information cannot be used or cannot be shown" on files over the symbolic link, appears fine on the actual drive. It has the NTFS metadata like the modification date and filesize though. [t]http://52.62.164.10/image/2016042602183558.png[/t][t]http://52.62.164.10/image/20160426021849830.png[/t] Restarted the RAMdisk and started a second one at the same time and tried that one too to no avail so I don't see how it can be corrupt memory either. Recreated the symbolic links and moved them to different places and they still don't want to work. Had the same links set up working flawlessly for months. Sagethumbs database appears to still be working fine but that's a file symbolic link rather than a folder like with the Waterfox cache. IME is broken too like last time so I get to enjoy another format.
any ways to make chrome a less shit browser.
any ways to make chrome a less shit browser.
Yeah use Firefox. :downs:
any ways to make chrome a less shit browser.
Edge Extensions soon pretty much runs the same extention base chrome uses We moved SteamDB's extention into it the afternoon something was out https://github.com/SteamDatabase/SteamDatabase/commit/d520861db7bb6a29197fafc7d7b462d7d8c48512
Is there a program to tell you how much battery each program is using? I'd imagine Chrome using a lot.
