Nope. It's just stuck on the lock screen where the lock screen doesn't even load. Only the cursor does. Pressing enter and entering the password, then pressing the enter key again does nothing.
The only other thing I can think of is a driver related issue. Can you get into safe mode?
Well fuck this threshold update, it always gets stuck at 81% copying files and I have to restart. And now I have a boot folder in my second drive that I cannot delete..... ffs microsoft.
I was up at midnight, Lumia 640 wasn't on sale @ BestBuy yet so I figured whatever I'll check in the morning 8 AM and it's totally sold out :o)
I like how the Microsoft Store decided to bump the price of this laptop from $1849 to $1999, then discount it $200 for Black Friday just to make it look like you're getting a bigger deal because it's "$200" off. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msca/en_CA/pdp/ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-UX501JW-UB71T-Signature-Edition-Laptop/productID.327097400 I'm pretty sure all retailers do this tho but oh well.
Black Friday is entirely a sham. It's either shit products or decent products that are essentially going on clearance. Or fair deals that you see every other month everywhere else all bundled in one day.

So, I'm about to install the 15.11 update. Is it still wonky as shit? [editline]27th November 2015[/editline] Well, things seem to be working properly so far. Colored window borders? Nice. Still no transparency for said borders? aww

Remember when Valve did it on GTA:V on Steam?

It was a dick move, from Valve and probably Rockstar.
Canceled my 950XL pre-order because of this bullshit. Why the fuck even bother pre-ordering? Microsoft fucked up processing my order so it wasn't confirmed until 2 days later. The devices are out of stock so I'm put in the back-order queue for shipping out on 12/11. A month later. I could drive to a store and pick one up TODAY. What a bullshit and terrible product launch. Not a peep about the damn device until 9 days before it launches? Only available on (well, thru, since I've apparently stepped on some toes) one carrier? Jee, I wonder why Windows Phones are doing so terribly. Make them accessible to the public and maybe the public will use them.

They only released it to be carried at one carrier. Most people do not buy phones outside of their carrier. That's what I'm referring to. That's what's really shitty. Why would you drop $690 on a phone if you can go through your carrier and get it for free (if you're at a shitty contract carrier) or $27/mo. If anyone needs to lurk more it's Microsoft. T-Mobile revolutionized the wireless industry by listening to their customers, Microsoft needs to do the same. I've heard that the Surface Pro 3, 4, and Book launches have been pretty large disasters as well. There's a recurring theme and it's ridiculous from a company this large.

Is there a way to set the accent color to white? All the custom color methods I've found rely on the SpecialColor registry value which doesn't appear to exist anymore.
Is there a way to set the accent color to white? You can open the mixer but if you try to set it to white or black it turns blue. rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,Advanced,@Advanced

But then, there's some sort of loophole that gets a lot of companies around it, can't remember what it is.
why would you spend more overall and get a shitty bloatware laden phone from a carrier that the carrier still owns
Because most phone users aren't power users. Again, they don't want to drop $680 on a phone they bought elsewhere. They want to walk into a store, get the phone, and leave with it without it costing them $680 out of pocket. The average user is not smart enough to realize that carriers are installing bloatware and that there are alternatives. The average user expects to walk into the store with their old phone and leave with a new one. Period.
The average user these days also thinks Lumia phones are shit and have no apps Source: I have many friends who bought Windows Phones and quickly went to cheapie Android phones so they can have snapchat and etc.
Luckily it's irrelevant now that you cannot get a Windows Phone on 1/2 of the large carriers!!!!! But yes, you are correct. And again, it doesn't matter what the perception is if no one can acquire the device to begin with. Here's a better example. You can buy an iPhone from Apple, yet I ring up at least 2 iPhones a day. Same exact device. Windows Phones (were) the same way; the carrier versions just came with carrier apps that could be uninstalled.
Yeah. And they sold pitifully, and as such were often EOL'd by the carrier quite soon after. Also terrible treating of updates. I believe the Lumia 830? was an AT&T exclusive and never even get the Denim update. [editline]27th November 2015[/editline] it's a shame because WP is a great product but the many logistical issues and the bad view in the public eye has harmed it a lot
The 830 has received full denim, last I heard.
Going to be reinstalling my PC within a week on a new bigger SSD. Am I missing any tricks for automating a Windows install? Currently I try to stick to portable applications where possible and copy my steam library etc, but there are still things I have to do every install like reconfigure Chrome, installing Office, VS, MSYS2, Git and what have you. I feel like there should be a better way. On Linux I'd write a shell script, on Windows? It'd also be nice if this helped me keep my desktop synced with my Surface Pro 3.

Also, they're still paying more. They're going to have that constant "shit, gotta keep paying off that phone bill" for a while, meanwhile when I buy my 950, I'll drop the money, and be done with it. I saved up that money, and now I don't have to worry about it (when I can buy it...) You keep saying "average user" and this and that. So, are you putting yourself into that category, or? [editline]28th November 2015[/editline]
The average user these days also thinks Lumia phones are shit and have no apps Source: I have many friends who bought Windows Phones and quickly went to cheapie Android phones so they can have snapchat and etc.
The app gap is a serious issue, be it big apps like snapchat, or all the little ones that aren't usually spoken about on a wide basis, but are vital to the individual. See: Steam, supermarkets, banks.
So I reinstalled Windows 10 today to fix every single modern app including the original start menu, volume controls and search not working. My IME also broke which is bad because Microsofts IME fucking sucks. After being a retard and forgetting to rename the D:/users folder before sysprepping users to D:/user it bootlooped on the set up phase (set country, language, time zone and privacy settings). Then I reinstalled and remmeber to rename it but windows managed to find it and unhelpfully renamed it back and bootlooped again on the set up phase. Then I hid it in another folder and it managed to find it again and put that folder inside users. Boot loop on setup phase again. Now I am stuck with only access to the administrator account in audit mode. Ass. Oh yeah, the modern apps are broken still. I don't know how that works. Might have something to do with the D:/windowsapps folder I am not allowed to delete. Time to find my debian live usb that I think is somewhere. Internet Explorer is ugly. [editline]29th November 2015[/editline] All my settings that I changed to try to renable cortana that caused this issue in the first place are still loaded which makes no sense because I never logged in as administrator on the old install and I can't get to adding a microsoft account for it to sync any settings. Boot drive was formatted three times to try to fix it so fucked if I know where that shit is hiding.
Why use IE when edge is literally one of the best browsers right now
Why use IE when edge is literally one of the best browsers right now
Edge refuses to start when you run it on the built in admin account.
Edge refuses to start when you run it on the built in admin account.
Yeah, you'll even get that on windows server Have to go into MMC to create an account, posted about it months ago, the module that settings use for creating accounts on WS preview was missing entirely :v:
