What I find interesting is how it looks a lot more like any other regular window.
Fuck yes. That pretty much settles it. Soon as this is out Chrome can suck it.
I think it looks great. It's exactly how I have my firefox now, except for the tabs.
Is it me or are All browsers heading in the design of Chrome/Opera?
Is it me or are All browsers heading in the design of Chrome/Opera?
Yeah, its like all websites are slowly turning into Facebook. Case in point; the latest version of Digg. It looks almost exactly like Facebook.
I like it. Seems that they prefer to show the barebones of the browser compared to what firefox has been trying (look at how much stuff we can stick into the window). Also looks nice with the aero, compared to some earlier stuff.
That actually looks not terrible.
Doesn't look too bad Doesn't mean it will perform well though... We'll see Microsoft, we'll see
- The address bar and search bars are now combined. - The menu bar is gone, it has a single menu like Chrome/Firefox.
:bandwagon: Edit: how the hell is this dumb, I'm pointing out that browser devs are jumping on the Chrome bandwagon
:bandwagon:
You go for what works best. Though tabs next to the search bar? Tsk.
IMHO that's a fairly good solution, most screens are wide and have the room to spare, and the omnibox in chrome is frankly a bit ridiculous vis a vis size.
Chrome ripoff
Chrome itself is largely just an updated take on the IE7 UI model, which itself seems to come from Safari (or wherever the hell). So more UI design ping pong than a ripoff. If you want ripoff I direct you to Failfox's latest attempt to have pixel for pixel feature equivalence with Opera.
Probably won't use it, but it is a step in the right direction.
sexy, i may switch over to it
Looks worse than FF4. And I hate the default UI of FF4. Looks like chrome, blah.
More so Opera, but, Firefox looks like Opera :v:
looks the same as every new browser
Indeed, I'm not a fan of it either.
Looks kinda cool, but what if I want to have more than 3 or 4 tabs open? The tabs will compress, rendering them impossible to read?
Looks kinda cool, but what if I want to have more than 3 or 4 tabs open? The tabs will compress, rendering them impossible to read?
Pretty much. Plus there's still 2 weeks before the beta's released so they can change it before then. And if they don't by beta they will by RTW because it'll get so much bad press.
Maybe they'll let you customize it..
Maybe they'll let you customize it..
I doubt it. Though I hope they would.
Yeah, its like all websites are slowly turning into Facebook. Case in point; the latest version of Digg. It looks almost exactly like Facebook.
Same with MySpace.
looks the same as every new browser
There aren't many options when making a browser interface. People want it to be transparent, have tabs somewhere, and look simplistic. It's perfectly fine.
Only thing I don't like is tabs next to URL bar.
Chrome ripoff
Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal.
Great, it only runs on Windows Vista and 7. I have WinXP Pro. FUCK! [editline]06:01PM[/editline] Also, GO FIYAHFOX! If firefox ever discontinues support for Windows XP while I'm still using it, I'd kill myself!
Yea... The least they could do is keep the older versions for us.
Maybe they'll let you customize it..
Chances are they'll make something that works, not something you get to fuck up.
Chances are they'll make something that works, not something you get to fuck up.
Could you be any higher on your horse?
Could you be any higher on your horse?
Depends if there's diamonds in his hand.
I don't believe in customisation. I believe in getting the design right from day one.
I don't believe in customisation. I believe in getting the design right from day one.
Thats impossible no one will ever agree on the same thing.
