Subsonic is now my favorite streaming media server program ever. I'll have to see this week when I get my new phone how the Android application that goes with it works. And I haven't even tried video streaming yet.
Holy shit that looks incredible
So I plug in my new HTC Aria into my computer and look at the files on it.... ... REALLY. Man that's an old folder...
I just donated 10€ to Subsonic. That's the largest amount of money I've ever donated. I feel.. dirty.. and communist..
Holy shit that looks incredible
I mean, really, what doesn't it have? iPhone, Android, WinMo apps, transcoding, podcast support, multiple users, lyric search for songs playing right now.. Also, I just updated the search index on Subsonic. I have 176 hours of content on it now.
Oh man my headphones are fucked up, luckily i can get new one in maybe two days or so, everything i listen to sounds horridly compressed :v:
I opened the command prompt in my CAD class today and set the text color to light green and then I entered "reg query hklm /s," and then proceeded to ask to go to the bathroom. When I returned there were about 15 of my peers crowded around my laptop in awe. Luckily my teacher was kind enough to listen when I explained that I had done no harm to the computer and simply did it to see what would happen. I'm now known by several of my classmates as the "Hacker."
me and two friends were thinking of doing that, But in the center of a mall for a school project. Did not work out with getting enough time though. And we would probably have been shot anyway :v:

[editline]:3:[/editline] Myself included. I can't help but do it whenever I go into a computer store.
CONTENT: One of my friends got a VPS to host Garry's Mod servers on. He decided putting gamebooster on it was a brilliant idea. He then argues that 50MB of ram makes up for it.
In what decade is 2.5mbps considered a great download speed?
My bad, I thought he meant megabytes, not bits. Fucking capitalization...

Shit, transcoding a video on-the-fly to 2000kbps into an .flv puts both of my cores to 50% on the machine I run Subsonic on. Meh, I'm going to be the only user.
I was wondering for the longest time why noone ever gives me interesting visitor messages. I never turned them on :v:
That would be the reason
yep
Posting from Android, seeing how it works on normal sites
Two bits of content here: In another forum I'm on, one user complained how the shoutbox didn't work on his iPhone. Then one guy came along and posted this:
I wonder if the iCrap stuggles to render the php and ajax shizzle....
(As a FYI, the shoutbox is in JavaScript) This asshat then complained about the attitude of the other members towards him. Now, also this in my local PC World (Big UK computer store chain), they had this HP computer on sale: Intel Core i7 8GB RAM Intel Integrated Graphics (Can't remember other specs) They advertised this as a gaming PC...
Intel Core i7 8GB RAM Intel Integrated Graphics (Can't remember other specs) They advertised this as a gaming PC...
That sounded OK until Intel graphics. but if it's a desktop you can just go buy a decent card with it and bam
So...my AD700's aren't coming for another 4 days or so... Any ways i could fix this? Whatever i listen to sounds HORRIBLY compressed, and when i watch a movie or something i can hear a weird sound in the background of every noise and when someone is speaking the voice will be low as ever at one point, then the next it blasts my ears off :ohdear:
That sounded OK until Intel graphics. but if it's a desktop you can just go buy a decent card with it and bam
Yeah, it's a decent machine, I'm not denying that (Not the best machine, but my no means bad) but it was the fact they advertised it at that spec (With the integrated graphics) as a gaming PC, claiming the Integrated graphics was "great for gaming".
Oh wow. I was reading a story on Slashdot about a rumored crimeware kit (think Game Maker for viruses/trojans/malware) for OS X. And then I saw the funniest comment:
All I want to know is whether this malware is worthy of the Apple platform or not: Does it use Grand Central Dispatch to efficiently allocate the load of multiple form-stealing processes between all my system's cores? Are the misleading dialog boxes that frighten me further into folly fully compliant with Apple's HID guidelines? If I'm going to get Mac malware, I damn well better have the best malware experience that the industry has to offer. Heck, I'd probably even be willing to pay $20 for something that windows users get for free and linux nerds compile from source, if the interface is good enough...

there's no excuse to try it
- I don't have a phone with any of the three major phone OSes - It's not in the main Portage tree (a.k.a. the laziness excuse) - DynDNS domains are blocked at school so I almost never have the option to use it through iPod wifi
- I don't have a phone with any of the three major phone OSes
There's WAP support included, just go to the server and add /wap for a stripped out version
- It's not in the main Portage tree (a.k.a. the laziness excuse)
Stop being lazy
- DynDNS domains are blocked at school so I almost never have the option to use it through iPod wifi
It comes with a *.subsonic.org subdomain which can automagically point at your server

It's your computer.

[editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] nevermind i read it i'm dumb [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] but finally we can direct people away from macs who are using the "hurp no vairus" excuse by linking them to that article
That sounded OK until Intel graphics. but if it's a desktop you can just go buy a decent card with it and bam
He's regretting it, though a friend of mine bought a quad core AMD HP with 8 GB RAM and I think an 8600 GT. It was okay, though obviously mediocre for the $800-900 he paid for it at the time. This was about 2 years ago. So he buys himself a Radeon HD 4770 and installs it. Every so often, the GPU wouldn't get enough power and Windows would switch itself over to the non-aero mode and slow down. He then bought a new PSU, which fixed that. It gets pretty warm in the case, so he recently bought a Cooler Master Storm Scount. OR, he could have let me order the parts and build him a system, which he wishes he had done 2 years ago.
