http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=15848 "Meanwhile, Microsoft unveiled its Anytime upgrade plan and its much anticipated Family Pack pricing. The family pack will be offered at release on October 22 and will include three licenses of Windows Home Premium. The total price is $149.99, or $49.99 per license -- the same as the pre-order but no time limit. The obvious limitation is that you have to purchase three licenses to get the discount, but considering you save $200 that seems a fair bargain. Microsoft says it’s a thank you to all the hard work the public did beta testing the product." hell ya count me in
Misleading title much?
Read where it says upgrade. no thanks
Misleading title much?
What's wrong with the title?
Read where it says upgrade. no thanks
You can clean install with W7 upgrade so it's really no different than OEM.
What's wrong with the title? You can clean install with W7 upgrade so it's really no different than OEM.
I read it as Windows 7 family pack for $49.99. Also that clean install is not the regular clean install that most people think of. Waiting for Paul Thurrott to clarify it.

"Microsoft Blacklists Leaked Windows 7 OEM Key" Well thanks alot Microsoft, at least they wont let the god damn Russians win. (Where do they get those leaks anyway?)
3 keys 149.99 = ~49.99 a key
Except you can't buy just one key, you have to buy the pack, meaning it's $149.99, not $49.99.

AKA w7? lol, other way around, Windows 7 -AKA W7.

What this means is that Windows 7 is going to be ~$50-100 when it comes out. Upgrade will probably be $50 and full version will be around $80. If it's any more you might as well just buy the 3 pack. My big question is will they let you upgrade from XP? Not like install 7 over XP keeping data, but by putting in your XP key. If so I'll probably just get this because I actually have 3 XP keys.

You can try selling the XP keys to people you know for cheap.
But then again its home which is crap.
Proffesional and Ultimate have nothing that the average gamer / tech enthusiast needs. Home Premium is just fine.
XP mode makes it all worth it for me to et anything better than premium.
Yeah, don't waste your money for XP mode. I can tell you right now from the RC that pretty much all it will be is a rigged version of Virtual PC that runs XP Professional.
